Solo Leveling has managed to redefine the meaning of a manhwa-to-anime adaptation, delivering a combo of fascinating fantasy, exhilarating action, and stunning visuals. With the second season currently airing and receiving rave reviews, there is much for fans to look forward to.

Here are the 8 most anticipated moments in Solo Leveling Season 2. Please note that this list is made with the assumption that the anime season will cover up to the Jeju Island Arc of Solo Leveling.

1) Sung Jinwoo vs Beru

Sung Jinwoo’s fight with Beru is one of the most exciting moments in the series, and anime fans are more excited than ever to witness it. During the Jeju Island Arc where the S-Rank Hunters aim to defeat the Ant Queen, they discover the existence of the Ant King – later named Beru.

This ant is powerful enough to send shivers down the spines of the strongest hunters, making them believe all hope is lost. However, Sung Jinwoo’s showing up and displaying his shadow abilities to their fullest potential leaves everyone in awe. Should the anime continue in its same pacing, fans can expect this fight to occur in season 2.

2) Cha Hae-In Meets Sung Jinwoo

Solo Leveling’s main romantic storyline follows Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In. As a powerful S-Rank Hunter, Hae-In meets Jinwoo when he has secretly joined an expedition of the Hunters Guild.

Despite hiding his potential, she instantly notices something different about him, as he is the only hunter who doesn’t smell foul to her. This curiosity will eventually intensify into love when he saves her in Jeju Island. Hence the pairing of these two extremely attractive and likable characters is something everyone can look forward to.

3) Sung Jinwoo Is an S-Rank Hunter

Sung Jinwoo’s rank has been a source of high debate since he failed the retest immediately after gaining the System. However, later on in season 2, he will be getting tested again, where he stuns the world by becoming one of Korea’s few S-Rank Hunters.

These will attract the envy and pride of many guilds hoping to recruit him. Additionally, it also sets up his rise to becoming a central figure of the country, protecting them from other countries as well as extraterrestrial enemies.

4) Jinwoo Climbs the Demon Castle

As we have seen in the most recent episode of the anime, Sung Jinwoo has begun climbing the Demon Castle as part of the newest challenge of his System. This will prove to be an exciting series of events, where he runs into all kinds of creatures, ranging from powerful demons to terrifying dragons.

During his travels, Jinwoo will also be forced to fight the king of the demons – Baran, and discover the Holy Water of Life.

5) Esil Radiru’s Introduction

While Esil Radiru is also introduced when Jinwoo climbs the Demon Castle, she has to be mentioned separately simply because of how large her following in the fandom is. This short yet impactful character is a demon princess of the Radiru Clan who initially fights the protagonist.

After losing, however, she begs him to spare her life, accompanying him on his journey. Across their adventure, they form an adorable bond, where Esil becomes an ally of Jinwoo and helps him defeat Baran.

Since Jinwoo has begun climbing the Demon Castle, viewers can be excited to meet one of the most beloved side characters in the series.

6) Jinwoo Saves His Mother

Jinwoo’s main reason for becoming a hunter was to earn enough to save and protect his sick mother – Park Kyung-Hye. He had struggled to do this while being the weakest hunter and still had no tangible solutions after becoming stronger.

However, once he enters the Demon Castle, he discovers the presence of the Holy Water of Life. Once he defeats the entire tower, he will be curing his mother’s Eternal Slumber. This makes for a very poignant scene, where Jinwoo, Jinah, and their mother get to live as a happy family again.

7) Sung Jinwoo’s Father

Sung Jinwoo’s father has been an enigma for most of the series, seemingly out of his family’s life. However, season 2 will finally introduce this mysterious character, named Sung Il-Hwan. As a former Korean S-Rank Hunter, Il-Hwan is a terrifying powerful character, destroying Hwang Dongsu soon after they meet.

While we will only be finding that Il-Hwan had spent several years in dungeons in this season, his real goal will be revealed in future sequels. This will reveal how he works under the Rulers and his plan to defeat the Monarchs.

Hence, we will only be getting a glimpse into Sung Il-Hwan this season, but it will be enough to awaken all our curiosities.

8) The Red Gate

While The Red Gate Arc has been covered by Solo Leveling Season 2, this was a moment every fan anticipated. Stuck in a Red Gate with White Tiger Guild recruits, Jinwoo must protect them while fighting powerful Ice Elves.

In this harsh setting, his shadow powers shine, proving useful where even an A-Rank Hunter struggles to survive. Meanwhile, outside, the intense meeting between Baek Yoon-Ho and Hwang Dongsu builds excitement for upcoming battles.

The Red Gate Arc perfectly introduces Solo Leveling Season 2 by contrasting Season 1, where Sung Jinwoo was powerless. Season 2 highlights the protagonist’s abilities and his transformation into a figure of strength.
