Resetting in-game activities, challenges and events is a common practice for most live-service games. However, Bungie’s multiplayer shooter, Destiny 2, takes a different approach with its unique system of Ritual Resets. These resets occur daily and weekly based on specific timings. This week, January 28 to February 4, serves as the final week of the currently running episode of Revenant.
Launched on October 8, 2024, the Revenant episode marks its end on February 4, 2025, making way for the highly anticipated new episode ‘Heresy’. Since Destiny 2 performs weekly resets every Tuesday, the reset for the final week of Revenant takes place on Tuesday, January 28, at 5 p.m. UTC (9 a.m. PT).

How Does Destiny 2 Weekly Reset Work?
Unlike other live service games, Destiny 2 shifts the daily and weekly reset times twice a year, making it challenging for the players to track the actual reset time. This is because Destiny 2 resets ties with the Daylight Savings Time (DST). Daylight Savings is a method of setting clocks one hour ahead during spring months to utilize the extra daylight. This system usually becomes active from March to November and remains inactive from November to March.
- When DST is active, Destiny 2 resets daily and weekly activities at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7 or 5:00 p.m. UTC).
- When DST is inactive, resets occur at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-8 or 5:00 p.m. UTC).
The next Destiny 2 reset timing shift will occur in March 2025, as Daylight Savings Time resumes on March 9, 2025, in the U.S. Usually, the servers will face a brief downtime during the weekly resets on Tuesdays, as Bungie uses this window to reset/change in-game content or deploy updates and hotfixes.
Upcoming Content With the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: January 28 – February 4
As the weekly reset (January 21 – January 28) approaches, let us go through the highlighting content for the week ahead (January 28 to February 4):
- January 28 to February 4 marks the final week of the Revenant episode. Players will receive bonus EXP for all ritual activities—including Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible. Additionally, a new teaser or preview for the next episode, Heresy, will be released on January 28.
- The featured Nightfall for the final week of Revenant Episode Act III is ‘The Corrupted’. The Undercurrent Grenade Launcher will be the reward for the Nightfall.
- The Pinnacle Rotators for the week include The Last Wish, Vow of the Disciple, Shattered Throne, and Duality. These activities provide opportunities to obtain Exotic weapons, including One Thousand Voices and Collective Obligation.
