Whether to kill or pacify an enemy is a conflict you will face often while playing Sniper Elite Resistance. This is not something that you think about while assassinating your main target, of course. But when it comes to dealing with non-target enemies, you are presented with this choice. “Pacify” in this sense means “knocking out” the NPC in question. Don’t worry, though—the game is not testing your morals.
The game does not have a different ending based on your moral code toward NPCs. However, there is an immediate circumstance regarding whether you choose to kill or pacify an enemy. So, what option should you choose? Well, there are a few things that you should first consider before making that final call.
Killing or Pacifying in Sniper Elite Resistance: What’s Better?
When it comes to making a decision between these two choices, it all comes down to what playstyle you prefer to have in the game. While Sniper Elite Resistance is primarily a stealth game, it is also a “sandbox.” So, it won’t stop you from going in guns blazing either. Before you make your final call, note the following factors:
- XP:
- The game grants you experience whenever you eliminate an enemy. So naturally, your instinct is to kill them. But you might want to rethink that. We say this because pacifying enemies will grant you more experience compared to killing them. Of course, this only applies to non-target enemies. Those aiming to get more XP to level up and earn more Skill Points should pacify enemies.
- Playstyle:
- If you are somebody who likes to be that “one-man army,” you will have a more satisfying run by killing the enemies. It is a given fact that you cannot be a pacifier if you want to blow the place up and make as much noise as possible while completing a mission. Those who enjoy the classic sandbox chaos shouldn’t pacify an enemy.
- Time-Taken:
- Without a doubt, killing enemies is much faster, especially considering the fact that you don’t need to be close to them to put them down lethally. However, in most scenarios, you will need to get close to the enemy to pacify them, and it will require longer to take them out. So, if you are short on time or don’t want to see those animations, simply kill the enemies and escape the scene after hiding their bodies.
