Uncover the mysteries of Poppy Playtime characters! Learn everything about the creepiest of them all you meet in-game.
Poppy Playtime is a horror adventure game that pits the player against some of the creepiest and most terrible toys. You meet several of these characters throughout your time in the game. Some are bound to freak you out and leave you sweating in fear. And, with Chapter 4 of the video game released recently, the list of scary characters has only grown longer.
In this guide, we introduce you to all the Poppy Playtime characters you get to meet throughout the title’s four chapters.
Introducing Poppy Playtime Characters
We will divide the list into four chapters to make it easier for you to track which ones you meet and when. We have also included additional sections for the Smiling Critters and Nightmare Critters you meet in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4, respectively.

Let’s take a detailed look at the different characters in each chapter.
Chapter 1
In Chapter 1, titled ‘A Tight Squeeze,’ you will meet the following creepy characters:
- Kissy Missy: Kissy Missy is a pink-colored character with slender arms and legs. Unlike many of the other characters on this list, Kissy Missy appears friendly, and she actually helps you when you briefly encounter her in the first chapter.
- Huggy Wuggy: Similar in looks to Kissy Missy, however, much creepier. Huggy Wuggy has sharp teeth and throughout the starting chapter, he’ll chase you around the factory floor. And, the less we say about that terrifying smile, the better.
- Poppy Playtime: The human-looking doll with red hair and blush on her cheeks is Poppy Playtime. You will find her held prisoner during the first chapter and you need to release her as part of the story.
- Cat-Bee: As the name suggests, Cat-Bee is a character whose appearance resembles that of a mixture between a cat and a bumblebee. You will need to create a Cat-Bee using a Make-A-Friend machine to progress through a door and move ahead with the story.
- Boogie Bot: You’ll encounter this green robot in the first chapter of the game. The robot loves to shake a leg, hence justifying his name.
- Bron: Bron is a red brontosaurus, whom you will see in the posters during the first chapter. His jokes will surely make you chuckle, even after encountering the horrors within the game.
- Candy Cat: A blue-colored cat, Candy Cat appears as a cardboard cutout in the game.
Chapter 2
The Poppy Playtime characters you encounter in the second chapter, Fly in a Web, include the following:
- Bunzo Bunny: You’ll encounter this scary character when participating in the Musical Memory activity. The yellow bunny holding cymbals will keep creeping closer to you every time you make a mistake within the mini-game.
- Mommy Long Legs: One of the most frightening characters is the primary villain in the chapter, Mommy Long Legs. She resembles a spider, whose limbs have been stretched to unnatural lengths. She will drag you through the factory floor in this chapter.
- PJ Pug-a-Pillar: Have you wondered what a hybrid of a pug and a caterpillar looks like? Well, in the second chapter, you meet such a character in PJ Pug-a-Pillar. This horrific character will chase you around during the Statue mini-game.
- Mini Huggies: These are miniaturized versions of Huggy Wuggy that you get to meet during the Whack-a-Wuggy activity. Make sure to smack them as soon as you spot one if you want to win at the mini-game.
Chapter 3
In Chapter 3, the game introduces even more of the creepy crawlies. They are:
- Miss Delight: Originally a teacher, Miss Delight is an animatronic character who turns hostile. She will chase you at various points of the chapter.
- CatNap: The main antagonist in this chapter is CatNap. A staunch follower of the Prototype, make sure not to take him lightly.
- DogDay: Resembling a damaged dog toy, DogDay is a highly helpful character. He offers greater insight and information about the factory and the other characters you encounter. His tips are crucial for your survival, so pay close attention.
- Ruined Critters: These are the long-damaged variants of the Smiling Critters. You find them at various parts of the Chapter, further filling you with dread.
Smiling Critters
Other characters that are part of Chapter 3 are the Smiling Critters.
- Bobby Bearhug
- Bubba Bubbaphant
- KickinChicken
- CraftyCorn
- PickyPiggy
- Hoppy Hopscotch
All of them will have wide grins on their face, which adds to the eerie factor. And despite their outward friendliness, they all seem to have secrets they are hiding.
Chapter 4
The following are the characters introduced in Chapter 4 of Poppy’s Playtime:
- Yarnaby: This lion-like creature might seem cuddly and friendly at first. But, don’t be drawn in by that outward appearance. It is hiding two mouths filled with sharp teeth. You will have to stay one step ahead whenever Yarnaby gives chase.
- Pianosaurus: Resembling a velociraptor with piano keys for teeth, this is extremely fast when it chases after you. So, beware!
- Doey the Doughman: If you want an ally in Chapter 4, Doey the Doughman is your only bet. He will help you throughout the chapter.
Nightmare Critters
In Chapter 4, you will also come face to face with Nightmare Critters, who resemble the Smiling Critters but are evil right out of the gate. Here are the list of Nightmare Critters in the game:
- Baba Chops
- Rabie Baby
- Icky Licky
- Maggie Mako
- Alister Gator
- Poe
- Simon Smoke
- Touille
