Destiny 2 Praedyth’s Revenge God Roll Guide

Praedyth’s Revenge is a kinetic rapid-fire frame sniper rifle introduced in the Vault of Glass reprised Raid during Season of the Splicer. The weapons were later updated to be craftable with new perk pools during Episode Heresy. Rapid-fire frame sniper rifles are often considered the best snipers for PvE with their larger magazine size and fast fire rate. They are less favored in PvP than adaptive frames but can still do some solid work in the Crucible. Praedyth’s Revenge is craftable and has an Adept version, referred to as Timelost for Vault of Glass weapons, that can be enhanced. In this guide, we will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Praedyth’s Revenge sniper rifle.

How to Get Praedyth’s Revenge in Destiny 2

You obtain the Praedyth’s Revenge from the Vault of Glass raid found in the Legends activity node. Specifically, it can drop from the 2nd encounter, Oracles, or the final encounter, Atheon. In order to get the Praedyth’s Revenge (Timelost), you must complete The Only Oracle for You challenge in the master version of Vault of Glass. Once earned, the standard version of Praedyth’s Revenge can be found in the hidden chest found throughout the raid and purchased at the end of raid chest after defeating Atheon. The Timelost version can be bought at the end of raid chest in the master version of the raid, provided the player has already earned the weapon once by completing the challenge.

A guaranteed Deepsight weapon can be earned if you complete the quest Fated Deepsight that is available at the Clan Vendor, Suraya Hawthorne, at the Tower Bazaar. Another Deepsight weapon is guaranteed to be available at the end of raid chest for your first purchase. Note that any weapons you purchase at the chest cannot have a Deepsight Harmonizer activated on them.

What Is the Praedyth’s Revenge God Roll in Destiny 2?

Praedyth’s Revenge, like most of the reprised Vault of Glass weapons, has a lot of great traits, especially for PvE. The combination of great reload traits in Column 3 and several damage traits in Column 4 make this sniper rifle one worth grabbing. It has a few decent traits for PvP as well, but doesn’t have anything that makes it great. Overall, the Praedyth’s Revenge looks like a solid addition to your PvE arsenal.

The following list is the best perks for the Praedyth’s Revenge PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Launcher Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Column 3 Trait: Rewind Rounds
  • Column 4 Trait: Elemental Honing
  • Masterwork: Handling
  • Origin Trait: Timelost Arsenal
  • Weapon Mod: Tactical

PvE Breakdown

Praedyth’s Revenge has quickly become one of the better sniper rifles you can in Destiny 2 with its recent revamp during Episode Heresy. You want to grab Arrowhead Brake for its barrel trait in order to straighten out its recoil pattern. You can opt for Fluted Barrel instead if its recoil pattern doesn’t bother you. Tactical Mag will increase the magazine size enough to make the most of its reload traits. A Handling masterwork and a Tactical mod will further increase the swap and aim speed of the weapon.

There are actually a few different combinations of traits you can go with on the Praedyth’s Revenge and have a great sniper rifle. Rewind Rounds and Elemental Honing is the most unique combination of traits, allowing for the potentially highest damage with instant reloading. You could also opt for the more tried Rewind Rounds and Precision Instrument, playing completely into the precision damage of the sniper. The last relevant combination is Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch. This combination would allow for the sniper rifle to pair well with other weapons with the same trait combination, such as Hezen’s Vengeance.

The best perks for the Praedyth’s Revenge PvP God Roll are Fluted Barrel, Accurized Rounds, No Distractions, and Opening Shot. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Praedyth’s Revenge PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Column 3 Trait: No Distractions
  • Column 4 Trait: Opening Shot
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Origin Trait: Timelost Magazine
  • Weapon Mod: Targeting Adjuster

PvP Breakdown

The Praedyth’s Revengs is looking to be a pretty average sniper rifle for PvP. It doesn’t really have a lot going for it when it comes to being super effective in The Crucible, but does have some traits that make it at least somewhat adequate. Fluted Barrel and Accurized Rounds are both minor traits that will improve the weapon’s handling and accuracy enough to make those tricky headshots in PvP more easily. Don’t be afraid to tweak these minor trait options to suit your style and feel though.

Unfortunately for Praedyth’s Revenge, the only decent PvP option in Column 3 in No Distractions. This is at best a C-Tier PvP trait that will only come into play in the most specific of situations and even in those situations you are typically better off with something else. Column 4 does give us the much more viable Opening Shot, which will improve the stats of the weapon on the first shot fired. Overall, the Praedyth’s Revenge looks like a weapon designed for PvE and should stay as far away from the Crucible as possible.
