Everything you need to know about the Earth Crystals in Monster Hunter Wilds, how to easily obtain them, the best places to farm, and more.
Earth Crystal is one of the rarest resources in Monster Hunter Wilds’ Low Rank. In fact, it’s also a resource that you will require in High Rank for crafting and upgrades. However, unlike the monsters and Endemic Life in Monster Hunter, the Earth Crystals don’t have a dedicated Field Guide entry, which makes it somewhat difficult to find. Furthermore, much like the Novacrystals and Ancient Wyvern Coins, the Earth Crystals don’t appear at every single Gathering Spot in the game. In fact, there’s a very specific area in Monster Hunter Wilds’ map where you can farm these resources in abundance. Unfortunately, finding that location isn’t as straightforward as hunting a monster.
Thankfully, finding these resources isn’t difficult either, as long as you know where to look. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to obtain the Earth Crystal in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Were To Find the Earth Crystals in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Earth Crystals can be found in the Windward Plains‘ Gathering Points. However, unlike Fulcium, Gracium, or Dragonbone Relic, Earth Crystals are found exclusively in Low Rank version of the Plains. This won’t be an issue if you haven’t made past the Low Rank quests in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, if you have reached High Rank, you might find yourself locked out of getting the resource.
Unlike the past Monster Hunter games, MH Wilds doesn’t have a Low Rank and High Rank toggle for maps. This is done so as to facilitate the end-game grind and the game’s open-world nature. However, this makes grinding for LR resources a somewhat cumbersome process.
Thankfully, you can replay Low Rank optional quests in MH Wilds. You can essentially start a Low Rank quest in Windward Plains and instead of going straight to the monster, you go to the Gathering Points on the map to farm Earth Crystals. Once you’re done gathering enough of these resources, you can either return from the quest or kill the monster to finish it. Either way, you get to keep the resources you farmed in the quest.
Best Farming Location for Earth Crystals
The best farming locations for the Earth Crystals are Areas 2, 3, and 16 in Low Rank Windward Plains. If you’re in High Rank, the best way to get these resources is to start the Low Rank Chatacabra hunting quest in Windward Plains. The quest has a 50-minute time limit, and, since it’s a Chatacabra, it won’t take too long to slay/capture it, especially with a High Rank build. Additionally, you can also use the Low Rank Quematrice hunting quest to farm for the resource. Equipping Geologist also helps get a few extra resources while farming.
