But, if you’re struggling to get your hands on them, this guide will help by providing some of the best ways to quickly farm runes in Diablo 4.
How To Farm Runes in Diablo 4
While there are many ways to farm the runes you want, we’ll outline the top four activities that will help you expand your rune collection without wasting any time.
- Take on World and Uber Bosses
- Farm runes at the Kurast Undercity
- Complete Whisper Bounties and open Whisper Caches
- Craft runes at the Jeweler
1) Take On World and Uber Bosses
World Bosses spawn every few hours at pre-determined locations around Sanctuary. You need to keep an eye out for notifications that pop up to alert you to an available World Boss. Taking on these bosses and defeating them should help you find a few runes. Make sure to defeat these World Bosses at the earliest to ensure more encounters.
Uber Bosses do not appear automatically. Instead, they will require certain summoning materials before showing up on the map. Depending on the Uber Boss in question, you’ll need to farm the summoning materials and then fight the boss once it appears. Besides runes, these bosses also drop class specific unique items that can improve your build significantly.
2) Farm Runes at the Kurast Undercity
Kurast Undercity is an endgame dungeon that offers a wide range of high-quality loot, including runes. If you are going down this route to farm runes in Diablo 4, you have to focus on collecting Tribute of Harmony. These are needed to unlock rune rewards from the Kurast Undercity dungeon.
3) Complete Whisper Bounties and Open Whisper Caches
Whisper Caches are another great source of powerful runes in the game. To get to these caches, you must complete Whisper Bounties and earn Grim Favors. Also, you can maximize the chances of runes dropping through Whisper Caches by completing the Whisper bounties in Headhunt zones. Keep in mind, though, that rune drops are never guaranteed through these caches.
4) Craft Runes at the Jeweler
This method is only possible if you have at least three runes of the same kind in your inventory. If that’s the case, you can visit the Jeweler. There, you can craft a new rune from three runes of the same kind. The rune that you create could be the exact one you were looking for, or it may be something totally unexpected.
Keep in mind that you would need to spend 4000 gold every time you craft runes at the Jeweler, which is why this method might not be the ideal way to farm runes if you lack substantial gold.
