The Kinsects have been a core mechanic of the Monster Hunter series. Here’s how you can unlock new Kinsects in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Like previous Monster Hunter games, the latest entry in the series Monster Hunter: Wilds reintroduces the Insect Glaive, the most interesting weapon out of the other thirteen available for the hunter to use.
The Insect Glaive has a unique ability that outshines other weapons: Kinsects. They allow the wielder to receive various technical boosts like speed, and damage and have their moveset to assist the hunter during a hunt. Here’s everything you need to know about unlocking new Kinsects for your glaive.
How To Unlock New Kinsects

You can unlock new Kinsects for your Insect Glaive with numerous methods including discovering new monsters and progressing story quests to reach newer areas. The newer the area, the more chance you’ll have to unlock and nurture them.
Nurturing your Kinsects can unlock new power-ups and enhance the already equipped ones. Continuing upgrade and collecting materials from monsters will allow you to craft two new Kinsects: Mauldrone and Cauldrone.
Both have unique properties and provide numerous buffs for the hunter, such as Poison, Recovery, and Paralysis abilities that are deemed useful during your battles.
Specifically, hunt for Lala Barina, Wingdrake, and Rompopolo to harvest the best material for nurturing them.
How To Use Kinsects

To use the newly acquired or upgraded Kinsects, head to the grounds and locate a monster of your choice. Doing so, initiate the hunt and equip the Insect Glaive before your venture.
Press L2/LT to use the focus mode, which will create a crosshair in the middle. It will make your attacks more accurate and simultaneously send them out to harvest and attack monsters you aim at.
Additionally, if your main goal is to extract the buffs from a monster, press R2/RT and throw the Kinsect at a monster. The monster’s anatomy differs, and every part provides a different buff (Red, Orange, White).
Replenishing the buff gauges opens up your Insect Glaive to deliver more damage and execute longer, faster combos.
