Helminth is a being that lives in the Orbiter’s Helminth Infirmary in Warframe. It can subsume Warframes and absorb their abilities to give them to another Warframe. Unlocking the Helminth is a little bit tricky as you need to complete several tasks. Feeding the Helminth will level it up to higher levels of metamorphosis. This unlocks subsume slots and Helminth abilities that you can inject into Warframes. You will get more XP if you feed it resources with a green arrow. Any non-prime Warframe can be subsumed to the Helminth. Subsuming will sacrifice the Warframe forever and will grant a specific ability from the respective Warframe to the Helminth. In this guide, we’ll discuss the Helminth in Warframe and which abilities you can achieve from it to use on a battlefield.
Helminth in Warframe – Overview
The Helminth in Warframe is a feature that allows you to modify your Warframe abilities by replacing them with new ones. You can find the Helminth in the Infested Room of your Orbiter. To unlock the Helminth, you must reach a specific rank, purchase the Helminth Segment Blueprint, craft the Helminth Segment, and install the Segment in your Orbiter. You need to feed the Helminth to keep it active. Unlock more customization options to rank up Helminth. You can gain abilities like Empower, Energized Munitions, Infested Mobility, and Rebuild Shields. Also, you can get a Warframe cyst and breed a Helminth Charger Kubrow with it early on after you unlock some quests.
What does Helminth do in Warframe
The Helminth is responsible for the ship’s biological functions. This includes repairing and maintaining the Warframes. Its main body is the big mouth attached to the back wall, which it uses to swallow resources. This allows you to customize your Warframe abilities, making you a powerful character in the game. Helminth gains Metamorphosis Ranks, allowing you to unlock additional infusion slots and resource efficiency. Helminth offers abilities that you can use on any Warframe.
How to get Helminth in Warframe
To unlock the Helminth system, you need to be mastery rank 8 and you’ll need to get the Helminth Segment from the sun in the Necralisk. You need to be ranked 3 with the Entrati, which is Associate, and it costs you 15,000 Standing. Once you’ve got it, get it built, and now you have access to the Helminth system with any Warframe without any assist.
To fully unlock the Helminth system, you’ll need to obtain four key Segments.
- Helminth Segment.
- Helminth Invigoration Segment
- The Helminth Archon Shard Segment
- The Helminth Coalescent Segment

Helminth Segment
You can get it from Sun at the Necralisk once you reach rank three or Associate with the in standing. It costs 15,000 standing, so you’ll need to grind high-level bounties on Deimos to get there quickly. To craft the Helminth Segment, you’ll need the following resources
- 50,000 Credits
- 5 Purple Velocipod Tags
- 20 Adramal Alloy
- 5 Saturated Muscle Mass
- 15 Ganglion
To get Purple Velocipod Tags, you’ll need to capture Purple Velocipod Pods found in the Cambion Drift on Deimos. First, purchase a Tranquilizer Rifle from Sun for 500 standing, then equip it with your gear wheel. The Velocipodes usually spawn just a couple of feet from the door. So, resetting the instance will help you find a good spawn. If you need more, simply reset again and check the area.
The reusable blueprint for Adramal Alloy can be purchased from Otak for 1,000 standing, requiring rank zero neutral with the Entrati. To craft 20 Adramal Alloys, you will need 20 Adramalium, 20 Travoride, 600 Plastids, and 15 Lucent Teroglobe. For the 20 Travoride, you can mine an orb Vallis on Fortuna from red-colored deposits. As for the rest, 20 Adramalium, 600 Plastids, 15 Lucent Teroglobe Globe, 5 Saturated Muscle Mass, and 15 Ganglion, you can obtain them all in a single Mission run by breaking containers in the Cambion Drift.
Haptic Fronds drop Ganglion, Vitrific Outcrops drop Lucent Teroglobe, and Rolizor and Spitia infested Cysts drop Saturated Muscle Mass. The process is fairly simple. Use Xaku or Limbo to destroy all containers using their fourth ability with max range. 280% and a loot radar mod to detect the location of containers.
Helminth Invigoration Segment
This one is a little more exciting. To unlock this, you’ll need to reach rank five or family with the Entrati standing. Once you get there, you can purchase the Invigoration Segment Blueprint from Sun for 30,000 standing. Craft it and you’ll unlock weekly Invigoration that Buffs your Warframes. To craft the Helminth Invigoration Segment, you’ll need the following resources.
- 50,000 Credits
- 5 vizier Predasite Tags
- 20 Tempered Bopholite
- 10 Pustulent Cognitive Nodule
- 15 Pusrolite
To obtain Vizier Predasite Tags, the process is similar to finding Purple Velocipods. This usually spawns just a few feet from the door. Resetting the instance will help you find a good spawn location. If you need more tags, simply reset again and check the area.
The reusable blueprint for Tempered Bapholite is available to buy from Otak for 1,000 standing, requiring rank zero neutral with the Entrati. To craft 20 Tempered Bapholite, you will need 20 Bapholite, 20 Pyrol, 1,600 Nano Spores, and 15 Lucent Teroglobe. For the 20 Pyrol, you can mine red-colored deposits in the plains of Eidolon on Earth. For the remaining items, you can obtain them by destroying containers using Xaku or Limbo.
Helminth Archon Shard Segment
To unlock this, you must first complete the Veil Breaker quest to obtain the Segment. The
Helminth Archon Shard Segment is a recent addition that allows you to infuse Archon Shards into your Warframes to further boost their power. You’ll need to complete Archon hunts to gather Archon Shards. Once you have the Segment installed, you can start integrating those Shards into your Warframes. After completing the Veil Breaker quest to craft the Helminth Archon Shard Segment, you’ll need the following resources.
- 50,000 Credits
- 2 Entrati Landthorn
- 10 Devolved Namalon
- 5 Sporulate Sacks
- 50 Thrax Plasm
To get into Entrati Landthorn, there are several ways. You can destroy Molted Cask containers on Zariman missions or complete bounties from the Zariman. You can also kill Necramech in Albrecht’s Laboratories missions, but the most recommended method is killing Gruzzlings, which can be easily found in Exterminate or survival missions in Albrecht’s Laboratories. The reusable blueprint for Devolved Namalon can be purchased from Oto for 2,000 standing, requiring the rank one stranger with the Entrati. To craft 20 Devolved Namalons, you’re going to need the following materials.
- 20 Namalon
- 20 Ferros
- 160 Rubedo
- 15 Lucent Teroglobe
To acquire 20 Ferros, you can mine red-colored deposits in the plains of Eidolon on Earth. Reubedo is an uncommon resource that you can find on Phobos, Earth, Pluto, Europa, Sedna, and the Orokin Void regions. Thrax Plasm can be obtained by defeating Thrax Centurion and Thrax Legatus on the Zariman map. As for the remaining resources, you can gather them similarly by destroying containers located in the Cambion drift in Deimos using Xaku or Limbo.
Helminth Coalescent Segment
The Helminth Coalescent Segment further expands the functions of the Helminth infirmary, allowing the Helminth to fuse Archon Shards. This either creates new variants with unique Buffs or combines them into a forged version. The blueprint for this Segment is sold by Bird 3 of Cavia for 30,000 standing, requiring rank two Researchers. If the player has not yet unlocked the Helminth infirmary, they will be unable to craft the Coalescent Segment at the Foundry.
Craft the Helminth Coalescent Segment, you’ll need the following resources.
- 50,000 credits
- 50 Stela
- 5 Echo Voca
- 4 Entrati Landthorn
- 25 Necrocoil
Stela is a rare resource found in Albrecht’s Laboratories. It can occasionally be acquired from murmur enemies. It is guaranteed to drop from murmur Sarcophage containers hidden in murmur tiles. Finding the murmur Sarcophage containers is quite simple. Look for areas resembling a desert as that’s where the containers are located. With a loot radar mod, the containers will appear on your mini-map. Echo Voca and Entrati Landthorn can both be obtained by defeating Gruzzlings. You can also find Echo Voca in hidden locations within Albrecht’s Laboratories. You can get Necrocoil by defeating the Murmur enemies.
Helminth location in Warframe
Helminth is located in the Helminth Infirmary of the Orbite in Warframe. The room is on the left side of your Orbiter. There is a flesh door behind the room. Nidus can enter by default. The Infirmary is behind a sealed door that requires special access to enter. Make sure you have your Warframe sit on the infested chair in the center of the room. Interact with the Helminth’s core functions. Make sure you have Associate Rank 3 with the Entrati. In Deimos. You need to buy the Helminth Segment Blueprint from Son and craft it. Once you craft it, you must install the segment in the Infested Room, allowing you to activate the system.
Helminth’s Ability in Warframe
The Helminth can inject both its own and subsume abilities from Warframes you have sacrificed into other Warframes, including prime Warframes. Every time you do this, you will use secretions and this also grants a metamorphosis experience. You can only have one subsumed ability active at any time. This means that the subsumed ability can be equipped on any one of your three mod configurations for a certain Warframe. For instance, you can put in empower for mase prime in configuration b in place of ballistic battery. Similarly for the other two configurations, you can have one different subsume or Helminth ability. This means you can inject one Warframe with three different subsumes or Helminth abilities at any one time. You can remove an infused ability at any time at no cost, but you will not get your resources or secretions back.

Feeding Helminth
You need to feed Helminth a certain number of resources from different categories to start the process. All resources can be utilized to feed the Helminth. These are then modified into Secretions which are used for Helminth functions. You can create different types of Secretions with different resources.
