Popular streamer and OTK member Mizkif shares his experience with fellow streamer Emiru’s several stalkers.
Matthew “Mizkif” went live on Twitch on March 2, 2025, following the stalking incident involving Valkyrae, Cinna, and Emiru. The streamer shared his experience with a stalker who followed him and Emiru to their house. Matt talked about his experience with a stalker who tracked him through CCTV cameras in Austin, Texas. He also stated that fellow streamer and OTK member Emily “Emiru” has had a plethora of “unhinged” stalkers throughout her career. While the streamer talked about his experience, he stated:
“We deal with a lot of stalkers—let’s not even pretend that me and Emi (Emiru) don’t deal with a lot of stalkers. It’s bad. It’s been bad. I mean, I told you guys last month there was, um, there were discords following everywhere I go on CCTV cameras that they hacked in Austin to know where I’m at and whose house I’m at.”
While many content creators share their stories online, live streamers are the only ones who broadcast in real time. Streamers frequently become targets because of their live broadcasts, facing everything from swatting attacks to being stalked in real life. While sharing his experience from a convention, Mizkif stated that a stalker followed Emiru for a whole day. The individual believed he was Emiru’s husband and had booked a flight to follow her around. The streamer further stated that the authorities are not much help for streamers as it is a difficult case to build. While talking about a restraining order, Miz said:
“Getting a restraining order is really f**king hard. It’s not an easy process. It’s not like… it’s a very hard thing to prove, and it’s a very hard thing to get. It’s not simple.”
Mizkif claimed that most of the stalkers are mentally ill as they are “delusional.” He stated that the stalkers are “hyper-obsessed” with female streamers. Matthew remarked that most of these stalkers do not realize they are mentally ill, and it is “sad.” While describing another incident involving Emiru, Miz recalled that he once had to pull a gun on a stalker:
“I pulled a gun on a viewer that came to my house. He was there for Emi. I don’t talk about this sh*t but I pulled a gun on a viewer because he showed up to my house and he was banging on my door, asking for Emi.”
Mizkif Opens Up About Being Followed Through Cameras
In December 2024, Mizkif shared his experience with a stalker who harassed him on WoW. While talking about the online follower, he stated that he was also being followed around in Austin, Texas, where he resides. The streamer stated that the stalker was using street CCTV cameras to track Mizkif’s whereabouts and keep an eye on him. Matthew broke down on stream after describing the incident to chat:
“He literally follows me on street cameras, chat. Like, they literally stalk me on street cameras. My schizos are insane, and I’m really getting sick of it. I’m so tired, he’s spamming me that he watches me for my street cameras.”
