The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is finally coming to PC this month. While the game was originally released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive, it eventually made its way to PlayStation 5 via a dedicated remastered version. Apart from the graphical and performance uplifts, the remaster brought a ton of new features to the PS5. The most significant new addition was the roguelike mode—No Return

Essentially, No Return is a separate mode accessible outside the main campaign of The Last of Us Part 2 and features its own progression systems and cosmetic rewards. Furthermore, the remaster is also a massive step up in terms of graphical fidelity compared to the original PS4 version.

However, the remaster’s increased graphical fidelity directly translates into higher PC system requirements. Surprisingly enough, The Last of Us Part 2 isn’t particularly taxing on a PC, as long as you’re not targeting 1440p or 4K resolutions. Here’s everything you need to know about The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s PC system requirements.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered PC System Requirements

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered features roughly identical system requirements as 2023’s The Last of Us PC port. The only key difference between the two titles is the file size. This isn’t particularly surprising, considering both games share the same engine and technologies. The file size difference between The Last of Us Part 2 and its predecessor comes down to the addition of No Return in the former.

Furthermore, The Last of Us Part 2, in general, is a much longer game compared to the original and, as such, features more cinematics that translate into a bigger file size. That being said, both games have roughly identical CPU and GPU requirements.

For 1080p and 60fps, you will need a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3060 equivalent. Furthermore, for 1080p, Naughty Dog recommends 8 GB of VRAM, which is normal. Using the same specifications, you can also play the game at 1440p, albeit with upscaling enabled. Here’s a look at the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered:

According to the game’s official PC system specifications, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered requires 150 GB of storage space. In addition, Naughty Dog and Nixxes Software highly recommend installing the game on an SSD. However, the game does support HDDs and even MicroSD storage formats (for Steam Deck). Unlike The Last of Us Part 1’s PC port, the sequel is handled by Nixxes Software, who, so far, have done a pretty good job at bringing PlayStation titles to PC.
