Understanding the Parlor Room Puzzle Clue in Blue Prince

Inside the room, you will find three different boxes: Blue, White, and Black. Each box displays a clue written on top of it. The goal is to determine which box contains the reward using the clues. Approach the desk in the room to pick up the Wind-up Key, the crucial component of the puzzle used to open a box. You will always find the key next to the notes. The note highlights the general rule behind the puzzle:
- There will always be at least one box that displays only true statements.
- There will always be at least one box that displays only false statements.
- Only one box has a prize within. The other two are empty.
By combining and analyzing these notes, you need to find the correct box that contains the prize reward. Since the puzzle resets every day, you won’t receive the same set of clues for the boxes the next day, making it essential to understand the logic behind the puzzle.

How To Find the Parlor Room Puzzle Solution in Blue Prince?

Let’s look at an example puzzle that we encountered during one of our runs.
- Black Box: This Box is the Middle Box
- White Box: The Gems are in the Middle box
- Blue Box: This Box is the Middle Box
Did you pick the White Box? That’s the right answer…
Here’s why: The White Box is located in the middle. But the Black Box and Blue Box claim they are the middle boxes, which are false statements. Since we know that one box will always display a true statement, the clue points to the White Box, which must be the right one in this case.
You can also use the Upgrade Disk to upgrade the Parlor Floorplan, which either increases your reward rate or grants an additional Wind-up Key.
