The original Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was a significant milestone for RPGs at the time. The game offered unprecedented player freedom, paired with a satisfying yet natural sense of progression. In Cyrodiil, you could be whoever you wanted to be, and the game supported that. Oblivion Remastered takes this philosophy and adapts it to modern gaming with a fresh coat of paint.

Amid the beautiful mix of jank and flashy graphics, you can still play however you like, and some people choose to be thieves. With countless NPCs populating Cyrodiil, there are plenty of opportunities to discreetly acquire items, perfect for those who enjoy playing a light-fingered character. Eventually, though, you will need to sell these goods to earn money.

Oblivion Remastered allows you to sell stolen items, but doesn’t really explain how to go about doing so. If you’re a new player starting off with Oblivion for the first time, you’re likely unsure of what to do with stolen items. If this sounds like your situation, we’re here to help. In this guide, we will explain how to sell stolen items in Oblivion Remastered.

Every thief needs to earn a living, and you can do so by selling your stolen items. As mentioned earlier, Oblivion Remastered allows you to sell stolen items for money. However, you can’t just sell them to any random merchant you come across. The items are stolen, and most honest merchants want nothing to do with such goods. Instead, you need to find Manheim Maulhand, a special merchant who buys stolen items. This shady merchant, or fence, is the owner of the Inn of Ill Omen, located near Bravil.

If you want to fully embrace the thieving lifestyle, we recommend joining the Thieves Guild in the game. Joining this guild grants you access to special quests and introduces a new merchant, Ongar the World-Weary, who will buy stolen items from you. As you progress through the ranks of the guild, you will unlock more fences to sell your goods to.
