Being an archer is many people’s dream in a fantasy setting, and Oblivion Remastered lets you live that dream to the fullest. The bow is one of the many weapon types that you can use to cause pain to your enemies. Moreover, using the bow means you rarely have to get close to enemies, which ultimately helps you survive much longer during fights. To help you pick the best weapon, this article has ranked the five best bows in Oblivion Remastered.

5. Shadowhunt Bow

The Shadowhunt is a good bow that can carry you through most of the early and mid-game. However, the enchantments on this bow are somewhat weak. In the late game, you can easily deal more poison damage by casting a spell. Still, the base damage is decent and is comparable to a Silver Bow.

  • Base Attack: 11
  • Enchantments:
    • Damage Health: 5 to 20 points
    • Damage Magika: 5 to 20 points
    • Turn Undead: 15 to 130 points
    • Weakness to Poison: 5% to 20% on hit
  • How to Acquire: Complete “The Lonely Wanderer” quest

4. Bow of Infliction

Despite being available as an early-game weapon, the Bow of Infliction holds up quite well in mid to late game. This is a unique, enchanted ebony bow sold by Daenlin at the Archer’s Paradox in Bravil. The enchantments on this bow are a bit on the weaker side. However, the base ebony damage makes it viable against most enemies.

  • Base Attack: 18
  • Enchantments:
    • Damage Attribute: Agility 5 points
    • Drain Skill: Marksman 15 points for 60 seconds
  • How to Acquire: From Daelin in Bravil

3. Bow of Infernal Frost

When it comes to elemental damage, the Infernal Frost Bow is comparable to some of the other bows on this list. We recommend getting this bow if you are following the Dark Brotherhood questline, as it is sold only by one of their merchants. You can buy it from M’raaj-Dar, whom you encounter early on after joining the mysterious faction. One thing to note is that you’re going to require a lot of soul gems to power this bow.

  • Base Attack: 8
  • Enchantments:
    • Fire Damage 10 points
    • Frost Damage 10 points
    • 200 charge, 7 uses
  • How to Acquire: Purchasable from M’raaj-Dar

2. Frostwyrm Bow

The Frostwyrm Bow is one of the best bows that you can get in Oblivion Remastered due to how good the base damage is, along with its enchantments. Moreover, this is also the best early-game bow that you can obtain very easily. This is a unique weapon, which means you can get only one of these in the entire game.

You must defeat the Uderfrykte Matron miniboss, who is located near Dive Rock in northeast Cyrodiil. She is a powerful creature, but you can easily defeat her using any bow by placing yourself in a higher location than her. That way, her AI won’t detect you even if you damage her. Moreover, the enchantments slow enemies when hit, which is perfect for an archer to quickly run after shooting.

  • Base Attack: 15
  • Enchantments:
    • Frost Damage 15 points
    • 500 charge, 21 uses
  • How to Acquire: Defeat Uderfrykte Matron

1. Hatred Souls

Hatred Souls is the best bow in Oblivion Remastered when it comes to a combination of base damage and enchantments. The Hatred Souls boasts a whopping 33 base damage, making it the highest-damaging weapon among all the other bows. Moreover, the enchantments let you deal extra fire damage and drain enemies on hit. The only downside of this bow is that you can obtain it late in the game, in the Chorrol Oblivion Gates.

  • Base Attack: 33
  • Enchantments:
    • Fire Damage
    • Drain Magic
    • 4800, 15 uses
  • How to Acquire: Hidden chamber in Chorrol Gates
