May of 2025 has a bunch of big name games releasing, so let’s look at some of the most anticipated out of the bunch.
May is shaping up to be one explosive month for the gaming community, as dozens of excellent games are releasing this month. However, among all of these games, a few stand out for the immense hype surrounding them. Moreover, gamers have waited a while for some of these games to release.
On that note, here are the 5 games players are most looking forward to in May 2025.
1) Among Us 3D
The world-famous murder mystery party game is back – and in 3D. This three-dimensional makeover of the original comes with multiple new features, such as proximity chat. However, the main draw is its cross-play functionality with Among Us VR (although not with the original game).
Even now, Among Us remains one of the most fun games to play with your friends. And this release on May 6 is the perfect opportunity to backstab your friends once more.
2) Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny
The next main entry in the Onimusha series, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, is still away. In the meantime, this remaster of Onimusha 2 can fill in.
In Onimusha 2, you take the role of the infamous Yagyu Jubei against the demonic forces of Oda Nobunaga. Starting May 23, you can finally experience the beloved classic in HD.
3) Revenge of the Savage Planet
2021’s Journey to the Savage Planet is finally getting a sequel, and its looking to be a good one. Players will find themselves stranded on a mysterious, hostile planet and will have to explore the dangers to find a way to survive.
Revenge of the Savage Planet features all the good things from its prequel and adds new features on top of them. With a third-person view, multiple planets, and more, this game is sure to be an improvement on the first in every way. It is set for release on May 8.
4) DOOM: The Dark Ages
The highly anticipated prequel to DOOM and DOOM Eternal is about to make its entrance, and its going to be a big one. Fans have been looking forward to this game since the day it was announced, and for good reason.
Featuring all-new weapons and tools to beat back all the fury of hell, DOOM: The Dark Ages looks absolutely mind-blowing. And it is coming out on May 15, 2025. So get ready to step into the shoes of the Slayer, and rip and tear once again.

5) Elden Ring: Nightreign
From the moment this spinoff of Elden Ring was revealed at last year’s Game Awards, fans have been frothing at the mouth in anticipation of this game. And now, it is not long before it finally releases.
Starting May 30, players can once again visit the Lands Between with their friends. Get ready to face bosses from all over FromSoftware’s storied catalogue alongside many all new, all dangerous ones. This game is sure to be an experience unlike any other.
