There are various types of weapons in V Rising. Among them, one of the most unique weapons is the Whip. Primarily, it is a melee weapon that can strike multiple enemies at once within a certain range and deals additional damage to the target at the tip of the receiving end. However, it is not easy to get your hands on the Whip in the game, because, unlike other weapons, players will only unlock the Whip once they reach Gear Level 60. This article will tell you how to unlock the Whip in V Rising.

The first Whip that players will unlock in V Rising is the iron variant of the weapon, or the Iron Whip. You will only get the recipe for this weapon after defeating Domina the Blade Dancer. She is a level 63 V Blood Boss. Additionally, Domina usually roams near Rustlock Village in Gloomrot South. So, if you want to take her down, that is where you should look.

You will get various items once Domina is defeated, but among them, the two most notable will be the recipes for the Iron and the Dark Silver Whip. After you have acquired these recipes, you will need to build a Smithy workstation. If you don’t have it already, you can unlock it by beating Quincy the Bandit King. Then, simply gather the materials listed below for the Smithy workstation:

  • 200 Blood Essence
  • 32 Iron Ingot
  • 16 Sulphur

Once you have collected these materials, you will be able to build a Smithy workstation and craft the Whip in V Rising.

How To Use the Whip in V Rising

We have already discussed how the Whip works in V Rising briefly. However, to extract the weapon’s full potential, you must understand its mechanics fully. The Whip in V Rising has three skill attacks: Aerial Whip Twirl, Entangling Whip, and the Primary Attack. When you use the Primary Attack, your character will hurl the Whip toward the direction of your cursor.

On the other hand, while using the Aerial Whip Twirl, your character will jump toward your cursor and swing his Whip around once he lands. This attack deals physical damage to anyone it hits and applies a snare debuff on them. The last on the list is the Entangling Whip skill. It is quite basic in practice. By using the Entangling Attack, you will deal physical damage to your enemy and slow them down for two seconds. Additionally, this ability has a ten-second cooldown—the longest of the three skills.
