V Rising has many different mechanics in its world. The game is primarily focused on Vampires, who are known for their ability to transform into various forms. So, it isn’t a surprise that shapeshifting is one of the core mechanics in V Rising, and it allows players to turn into a bat among six other animals and insects.
Many will find the Bat Form especially useful since players can use it to travel vast distances easily and reach elevated places. In this article, we will tell you how you can unlock the Bat Form in V Rising.
How To Acquire the Bat Form in V Rising
The Bat Form in V Rising is quite useful, so naturally, players will come across it relatively late. Furthermore, gamers will have to defeat Lord Styx the Night Champion to get the Bat Form, as it is the only way. This boss is a level 84 V Blood Carrier and roams the Cursed Forest. So, we suggest that you prepare accordingly since the fight might prove to be difficult for lower-level players.
If you have the high-level gear, then the fight won’t be troublesome. All you have to do is keep an eye out for his spin attack, and once it is over, go on the offensive. Additionally, Lord Styx will summon weaker vampires once his health drops to 50%. However, this situation might prove to be favorable since killing the weaker vampires will heal you. After you have defeated Lord Styx the Night Champion, you will get the Bat Form, an Onyx Tear, and a Blood Key.
How To Use the Bat Form in V Rising
Using the Bat Form in V Rising is quite simple. It works like any other form, and you can activate it by selecting it from the Shapeshifting wheel. However, the Bat Form does have some unique perks and uses, which we will list below:
- You will be able to travel quickly with the Bat Form
- When you fly in Bat Form, woods or rocks won’t obstruct you.
- Unlike other shapeshifting forms, silver can be carried in the Bat Form.

- While in the Bat Form, you can get burned by the sun. So, keep track of the game’s day-night cycle.
- You won’t be able to land anywhere you want with the Bat Form. An “invalid location” message will pop up if you try to land on a mountain or rooftops, or any other structure. So, you must find a proper place to exit the Bat Form.
- Players can only carry teleportable items in the Bat Form.
- Players won’t be able to see enemies when flying in the Bat Form. The developers added this limitation to remove an unfair advantage.
- It takes five seconds to cast the Bat Form. During this, your character will remain vulnerable to enemy attacks.
- Players cannot use the Bat Form while staying indoors or under any kind of roof.
