The Elderwood expansion for Palia is out now. It not only adds a wide range of quests and optional activities but also a lot of brand-new flora and fauna. For instance, the expansion adds around 20 new kinds of fish, one of which is the Toadstool Floatfish. It is a glowing jellyfish that you can easily spot and catch if you already know where to look.

And you’ll need to get your hands on one to progress through one of the mainline quests in the newest expansion of the game. So, with that in mind, here is our guide on finding and catching the Toadstool Floatfish in Palia.

How To Find and Catch the Toadstool Floatfish in Palia

The Toadstool Floatfish exists in almost all of the water bodies in the Elderwood zone. However, it’s easiest to find this creature in the De Mer Dock region of the map. If you haven’t discovered the dock area yet, simply travel southwest from the Okanaa Bog.

Once at this location, you’ll need to fish for the Toadstool Floatfish. Pull out your fishing rod and reel a line in the water. You don’t need any special bait to catch this particular creature. So, just drop a line and wait for the Floatfish to bite. As soon as this happens, a mini-game will trigger. During this game, all you need to do is keep the fish within the spawning circles. Keep at it long enough to snag the fish. Repeat the process to catch a few more just in case you need them.

How To Use the Toadstool Floatfish in Palia

The Toadstool Floatfish is necessary to progress a certain main quest in the Elderwood expansion. However, that isn’t its sole use. Like other fish, you can use this one to prepare meals that give you a range of benefits. This fish is an ingredient in recipes, such as Fish Tacos, Fish Stew, and Grilled Fish. Or, if you are in need of immediate money, you can sell 1x toadstool Floatfish for 50 gold coins.
