In this guide, we shall go over how to beat the Chromatic Echassier in Clair Obscur Expedition 33, a boss in Lumiere.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 gives you plenty of opportunities to test your mettle against the best. After grinding through and beating the boss, the game then presents you with Chromatic versions of these bosses and enemies. These bosses are much harder variants but are optional for the most part. This is not the case for the Chromatic Echassier, however.
Found in Lumiere during the final act of Clair Obscur Expedition 33, the Chromatic Echassier blocks your path to the Opera House. This boss hits about as hard as you’d expect a late-game boss to, making it frustrating to deal with. If you can’t seem to beat this boss, we’re here to help.

How To Beat Chromatic Echassier in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
The Chromatic Echassier is weak to fire, so we recommend bringing in Lune and Maelle for the job. Both of these characters have a strong roster of Fire-based skills, and Lune will double as a healer to keep you in the fight. We also recommend using Lune’s Wildfire to inflict burn and using that to switch Maelle to Virtuoso stance. You can also achieve this stance with her Gradient Attack.
As far as attack patterns go, the boss just uses two. The first of these is the Jump attack. The boss jumps into the air and slams the ground twice. The first jump is a regular jump, while the second is a Gradient Attack. Jump over the boss’s first hit and Gradient Counterattack the second strike. For the Gradient Counterattack, press the parry button a moment after the boss reaches the maximum height on its jump.
The second attack you have to be wary of is its regular attack. This is a 7-hit combo where the boss uses its sharp limbs to stab at you. The boss attacks in pairs for the first six strikes, and the last is a solo strike. You parry this attack rhythmically: 1,2, Break, 1,2, Break, 1,2, Break, 1. The break is very small, so do not let go of the button. Parry, counterattack, and exploit the boss’s weakness to fire to win this fight.
