In this guide, we shall go over how to cut trees in Roadcraft, so you can get the logs you need for your bridges.

Building is the name of the game in Roadcraft, as evident by the “craft” in the title. You lead a company running restoration efforts across different regions, helping rebuild areas hit by natural disasters. You drive through rough terrain, maybe crossing over a gap by building a bridge, and then heading over to the hit area to rebuild something else.
Each thing you build requires you to farm resources such as steel beams, bricks, metals, logs, and much more. Logs, especially, are a fairly primitive yet important resource, requiring you to cut down trees.
Cutting down trees in the game isn’t as simple as running up to a tree and chopping it down. You need the right tools and must know the steps—steps you may forget due to the abundance of tutorials.
If you’re looking for logs to build bridges or anything similar, you need to cut down trees. In this guide, we shall go over how to cut trees in Roadcraft.

How To Cut Trees in Roadcraft

You cut trees in Roadcraft using the special Tree Harvester machinery. Machines such as the MTK MD-76 allow you to uproot trees in the wild and harvest them into logs for crafting purposes.
Once you’re controlling any of the Tree Harvesters, use the vehicle to approach nearby trees. The vehicle comes with a dedicated tree scanner feature that sends out a wave in the immediate vicinity, scanning any trees ripe for harvest. Press the ‘3’ key on PC to use the scanner and locate trees. If you’re on console, press the designated button displayed on the bottom right to scan the area.
Once you’ve spotted the tree you wish to harvest, simply drive up to it. The Tree Harvester vehicles have an arm on the front. You can use this arm to lift the tree from the ground. The base of the tree will be highlighted green to indicate that it can be lifted. Lift the tree using the arm, and process it by pressing ‘1’ (or the key displayed on the bottom right).
