When you go to the Ruined Broch location in the game, proceed downstairs and into the kitchen area. There, you’ll meet an undead chef named Rumpolt. Talk to him to learn about one of his culinary masterpieces, Sour Herring and Cheese. Rumpolt will request you to fetch him the necessary ingredients for the dish. You’ll need to find two items for him – a special herring and cheese. Don’t worry! He’ll mark the location of the herring on your map. However, you’ll need to gather cheese by yourself.

You will need to head to the marked island location to fetch the herring. Once you’re there, you’ll find a boat and fishing rod placed there conveniently. Use the rod to cast a line in the water and wait for the fish to bite before reeling it in.

After getting your hands on the special herring, make your way back to Rumpolt’s kitchen underneath the Ruined Broch. To the right of the kitchen will be a locked door. Pick the lock and enter to find a few pieces of cheese inside. Don’t fret about lockpicking in front of Rumpolt, as he doesn’t seem to care.

Now, use the cooking pot in the kitchen to combine the cheese and the special herring. Take the completed dish and hand it over to the undead chef. Once you do that, he’ll reward you with a spell known as Rumpolt’s Revenge.

How To Use Rumpolt’s Revenge Spell

The light cast of the spell will consume a portion of your HP to produce a cheese wedge. So, you can get cheese easily whenever you desire. However, the spell’s main draw is its heavy cast effect. With a heavy cast, you can transform certain enemies and animals into cheese wedges. Keep in mind that the spell won’t work on all NPCs or foes.

Go ahead and try it out on Rumpolt himself. If you turn him into cheese, you’ll also unlock the Ironic trophy. Remember that using this spell will essentially kill the NPC. So, don’t forget to grab any loot they might have afterward, along with the cheese that they turn into!
