Xbox has always been about the players, and they have dedicated years to developing and reimagining ways in which they could enhance our playing experience. With this motive in mind, a player should not be constrained to a single place. They should have the option to immerse themselves in an experience, be it through Xbox Play Anywhere, Game Pass, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Remote Play , and more; the options are limitless.
In this article, we will be talking about the ROG Xbox Ally announcement and what this means for the future of Xbox gaming.

Next-Level Feature Reveals

With the new handhelds, players can expect to carry their gaming experience with them anywhere and everywhere. A list of new, first-of-their-kind features will be available on both these devices. Windows 11 has been optimized to be the easy-to-use software for the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. The Game Bar button serves multiple purposes, including returning home, accessing your library of games, booting or exiting games, and chatting with friends, among various other uses.
Now, with the Armoury Crate, a unique innovation by ASUS, the Game Bar will gain even more powers. This includes streamlining access to advanced devices and input controls. As these devices run Windows, players will have access to PC gaming. They will also be able to download games from different launchers and apps like Discord, stream content on Twitch, or play with various mods.
Xbox Experience for Handheld

Booting on your Xbox Ally will directly take you to the new Xbox Experience page. This is a new feature, especially for the handheld devices. A lot of emphasis is put on minimising any type of unnecessary background activity or tasks and allotting the resources towards the gameplay. This translates to having more memory, smoother frame rates, and an immersive experience like none other. Some other Xbox touches include:
Xbox button:
With this button, players can access chat, apps, and settings via the Game Bar overlay. This will allow them to seamlessly switch between the different running apps and games on the device.
Contoured Grip:
A lot of attention is given to player experience. That being said, the design principles behind the popular Xbox Wireless Controllers will feature in both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds to help accommodate a wider range of hand sizes.
Accessibility Features:
The Xbox app, along with the Game Bar, is specifically for handheld use. Features that made the Xbox consoles and Windows PC what they are today will help tune the future for the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X.
