A day after Roblox announced the name of their upcoming event, The Hatch, the gaming company has claimed that it is going to be the “biggest” egg hunt in Roblox History. For those out of the loop, the Egg Hunt is the name of the very first yearly event started by the company back in 2008. It was discontinued in 2020 and was rebranded to other names, such as The Hunt.
Amid online rumors, The Hatch was announced on June 11, 2025. We even got a release date for the event- July 2, 2025. The announcement sent longtime fans into a frenzy, with many exclaiming how long they had waited for the event to return. Newer players also joined in on the excitement, noting how they would be doing the egg hunt for the very first time.
Roblox has only gone and hyped up The Hatch even more. In a post on June 12, the official account on X stated that the event was going to be the biggest one in the gaming platform’s history. Replying to a fan, the official Roblox account also revealed that an astonishing 1,000 developers are involved in the project. The announcement reads as follows:
“The Hatch isn’t just another egg hunt. It’s going to be the largest one in Roblox history because we’re calling on 1,000 devs to help build it. Are you ready to start collecting?”

“ROBLOX SAID IT” – KreekCraft Reacts to Roblox Hyping Up the Hatch
The announcement about 1,000 developers working on the event has sent the whole community into a frenzy. And it’s not just players who are excited. Popular YouTuber and Roblox content creator KreekCraft replied to the official post on X. He noted how the post officially confirms that The Hatch would be an egg hunt, but also the fact that it is going to be the biggest in the game’s history.

Egg Hunts: Timeline of the Roblox Event
Roblox originally dubbed the egg hunt events “Eggstravaganzas” and later as “Egg drops.” The first event happened in 2008. Developers introduced special items called Eggs. As the name implies, players would have to hunt these Eggs by either finding them inside certain games or completing tasks within the allotted time.
Over time, some of these special Eggs have become limited, letting players sell them to others. Each successive event would bring new Eggs, with players grinding the selected game to earn them. Players could also hatch some of these Eggs after the end of the event for special cosmetics for their avatars. The devs discontinued this feature. But it could be making a comeback with The Hatch, considering its name.
Roblox rebranded the egg hunts in 2020 to Metaverse Champions, and later The Hunt. However, they still released certain Egg-inspired items. In 2024, the devs released The Infinite Egg hat on the marketplace.
