Elder Scrolls Online Update 46 is the most recent major update introduced to the game. PC and Mac users received the update on June 2, 2025. However, console players have to wait until June 18, 2025, to gain access to Update 46. As mentioned before, the update not only introduces new content but also includes many QoL (Quality of Life) features. Here are all the major additions:

Hero’s Return Feature

The developers have noticed that many players take long breaks from the game, only to return and feel confused about all the new content. To address this problem, they have introduced the Hero’s Return.

The Hero’s Return is a type of quest that highlights most of the major features or activities the player might have forgotten during their absence. Once you complete the quest, you receive a small series of objectives to help you get reacquainted with the game. Additionally, you earn extra rewards for completing quests to make up for everything you missed.

Furnishing Vault

If you have the ESO Plus subscription, you can claim the Furnishing Vault from the Crown Store. However, it is available only when Update 46 is live on your platform. The vault allows you to store up to 500 stacks of furnishing items, which frees up a significant amount of space from your house and vaults. In other words, the Furnishing Vault greatly improves inventory management.

Adding Add-Ons to Consoles

Starting June 23, 2025, console users can begin using add-ons to customize their Elder Scrolls Online experience. Since 2014, only PC players have been able to use this feature, but now console users can also benefit from add-ons. However, please note that there is a high chance of performance drops if too many add-ons are used on consoles, especially older models.

Subclass System

The long-awaited Subclass System is finally here. Once your character reaches level 50, you can complete a short quest to unlock the Subclass feature. Subclassing allows you to use abilities and passives from different classes other than your own. Not only does this make you more powerful, but it also lets you mix and match different classes to create a fully personalized and customized build.

The Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 DLC is the second major addition to the Elder Scrolls Online 2025 Content Pack. The DLC serves as a sequel to ESO’s original storyline, which deals with the emergence of the once-forgotten Worm Cult. You will meet up with new and old allies and explore Solstice, a new region added in this update.

Western Solstice Zone

The Western Solstice Zone is a brand-new area that is part of the Solstice island. Currently, only the western part of the island is accessible, but more will be unlocked in the second part of the DLC, which will release later this year. Solstice is a tropical island filled with story quests, world bosses, and even a new public dungeon. Moreover, this is where you will unravel the mysteries of the Worm Cult.

Ossein Cage Trials

This is a new PvE endgame mode that requires 12 players to team up and venture into one of Molag Bal’s fortresses to capture a dangerous relic. The area of the trial is located in Coldharbour, but you need to visit Solstice to gain access to the trial itself. Therefore, you must purchase the 2025 content pack to access the Ossein Cage Trials.

Unique DLC Rewards

The new area not only brings challenges but also offers many rewards to incentivize exploration. Here are some of the rewards you can obtain in the Solstice region:

  • 16 new Antiquities (with three Mythic items)
  • New item sets (in both Trial and Zone)
  • Lots of Collectibles (ranging from crafting motifs to pets)
  • 10% extra experience when exploring Solstice in 2025.

These are all the major additions that come with Elder Scrolls Online Update 46 and the Seasons of the Worm Cult Part 1 DLC.
