In Death Stranding 2, the game will often notify you about Lou’s mood as you tackle the harshness of the Australian Outback. Engaging in combat, threats of BTs, passing through deep water, or even accidents and tumbles can result in worsening the mood of your little companion and make Lou stressed.

So, how can you better Lou’s mood and soothe her?

To soothe Lou in Death Stranding 2 and improve her mood, you will have to interact with her. The steps are:

  • Hold L1 and press down on D-pad.
  • Sway the controller/Gently Rock Up and Down to soothe Lou.
  • You can also Hold L1 to check on Lou.

When Lou is in a bad mood, the BB Pod will be bright red. Once the mood improves, the color changes to yellow. You can then press Square to stop soothing Lou and attach her back to Sam’s suit.

What Actions Affect Lou’s Mood?

Apart from directly interacting with Lou in Death Stranding 2, you can also improve her mood and get likes from her by driving a vehicle at maximum speed for a duration, riding the monorail, playing music, running fast, and jumping, among others.

Falling from height, getting too near BTs or getting dragged by them, submerging the BB pod in water, killing animals, and taking damage can negatively impact Lou’s mood in Death Stranding 2.

While Lou has been a major part of our and Sam’s journey in Death Stranding 1, we barely knew anything about her past. With DS2, the veil lifts. Within Episode 1, Deadman tells you about what he has learnt while researching BB-28. While the first chapter ends in disaster, Lou’s BT supposedly finds her way to the BB Pod that Sam then carries across Australia.
