With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, a lot of fans have been wondering whether Diablo 4 will also be on the handheld console. This question does make sense, considering how the game is available on a lot of platforms. Currently, the game has a dedicated player base on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.

Unfortunately, there is no confirmation about a Nintendo Switch 2 release for Diablo 4. With that said, it doesn’t have to stay that way forever. Various games have arrived on the portable console. This means there is hope for Blizzard Entertainment to consider adding the game to Switch 2 in the future.

Will Diablo 4 Release on the Nintendo Switch 2?

At the time of writing, Blizzard Entertainment has yet to confirm any plans to release Diablo 4 on the Nintendo Switch 2. For now, players can play the game on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.

However, there is a possibility that Diablo 4 will have a Switch 2 release in the future. In an interview with Gamertag Radio on YouTube, Diablo series manager Rod Fergusson said a port is being “considered” for Nintendo’s latest handheld console. The Diablo series lead said:

“I think there’s opportunity there for sure. I mean, we have Diablo 3 and Diablo 2 Resurrected already on the Switch, and with backwards compatibility, it’ll be playable on Switch 2.”

According to Fergusson, the console can definitely run the game. However, there is a catch. He added that live service games are a bit tricky to release on the Switch 2. This is why Diablo 4 hasn’t been released for it yet.  However, live service games making their way to Nintendo’s latest console isn’t entirely out of the question. Fortnite, Epic Games’ flagship battle royale title, launched on the Switch 2 on June 5, 2025. It even took advantage of the new Joy-Con 2’s mouse control support. This allows players to aim with precision similar to a PC setup.

With that said, it’s not far-fetched to say that Diablo 4 could work on the Nintendo Switch. For now, though, we’ll just have to wait for Blizzard Entertainment to confirm whether the game will release on the console.
