Mecha Break Makalu Boss, Overview

Makalu is a Colossal Striker and is the final boss that appears during the Orbital Defense Op mission in Rookie Mode. It is the final hurdle before you finish the mission and make it back to S.H.A.D.O.W. HQ. However, despite its size, Makalu is not very strong. The boss has three large mechanical arms and a railgun mounted on its left shoulder. It can use either of its weapons depending on your distance from the boss.
Additionally, it has hidden lasers mounted on its chest that Makalu rarely uses. Despite being a hectic battle, the fight itself is quite easy due to the help from two other Strikers named Luminae and Hurricane. They are great allies and constantly heal you during the fight using drones.
Mecha Break Makalu Boss, Attacks

Here are the attacks Makalu does during its boss fight in Mecha Break:
- Punch: If you are very close to Makalu, it will try to punch you using one of its three arms.
- Pounce: Makalu randomly gains a burst of speed and rushes towards the location of the closest Striker to punch them.
- Blaster: Makalu uses the railgun on its shoulder to fire a single beam of energy that deals damage on contact.
- Laser Show: If all the Strikers are far away from Makalu, it uses a barrage of lasers that move erratically and home in on the Striker.
Mecha Break Makalu Boss Tips and Tricks

- Use your Gauss Cannons to strip down Makalu’s shield quickly. Two shots are enough to expose the actual health bar.
- Parry the punches by opening your shield at the perfect time.
- Maintain your distance if your health is half or lower. Let your allies take the heat off you.
- Keep your shield up during the laser show. That attack won’t do damage with you having your shield activated.
- The best way to damage Makalu is to camp between his legs and spam your sword slash attack.
- Your allies hardly do any damage, so it is up to you to get offensive.
