Master the Crane Game (Claw Machine) in Umamusume Pretty Derby. Grab multiple plushies and complete the special mission with our guide.
Umamusume Pretty Derby hands you the reins as a trainer of your chosen horse girl at Tracen Academy. During training, several special events may occur randomly, providing opportunities to raise the motivation level of your uma.
One of these events is the Crane Game, which gives you control of a claw machine and a few chances to bag as many plushies as you can. The event is important for your uma’s training, as it has the potential to be a big success and provide a major motivation boost. Additionally, getting three plushies in one attempt completes a special event mission.
When Does the Claw Machine Event Take Place in Umamusume Pretty Derby?
The Claw Machine event can take place once a year, beginning in year 2, when you go on a date with your uma. The easiest way to get the event and farm it is to use Mayano or Haru Urara, as they have a 15-day stretch where you can spam dates with them during the second year. Use the bottom middle button on the training screen to start a date with the uma. You can see the year in the top left corner:
- Junior Year: Year 1
- Classic Year: Year 2
- Senior Year: Year 3

Umamusume Pretty Derby: How To Win the Crane Game
To play, hold the button and release it when the claw is above the plushie you want. To secure plushies easily, look for those that are standing up straighter and aim for their center. If you manage to bag three plushies in one attempt, you will complete the special event mission. Here is some additional information to help you get multiple plushies at once:
- You can see extra plushies attached below one of them on the surface.
- When a plushie spawns with golden sparkles, it means there are more plushies connected to it.
- Plushies on the left are easier to secure, while those on the right are more likely to have extra plushies attached.
Your uma will receive a large motivation boost if the event is a big success. To achieve this, you need to get one of the following results:
- One big plushie and two small plushies
- Six small plushies
Getting any plushies at all will be considered a small success and provide a minor boost to motivation.
