Where To Find The Fishing Trip Quest in Dig
You can start the quest by talking to John, an NPC standing under a white umbrella next to the Totem Shop in Cinder Shores. This area is on Cinder Island, just southwest of the starting zone.
Look for:
- A beach village with palm trees and crates.
- John wearing a fishing hat and standing beside the shop.
Walk up to him and talk to begin the Fishing Trip quest.
Fishing Trip Quest Objective
Once you accept the quest, John will ask you to bring him the following items:
- 1 Fishing Rod
- 1 Fishing Hook
- 2 Worms
You don’t have to travel far, all of these items can be found by digging around the beach right where John is.
Where To Find the Items
- Fishing Rod: Often found near crates or along the sandy shoreline.
- Fishing Hook: Tends to spawn near palm trees or rocky parts of the beach.
- Worms: Look for them near rocks, logs, or shaded spots around the beach.
You don’t need to dig in any specific order or spot, move around and dig until you collect the required materials. The item drops are random, so a bit of luck helps.
Tip: If you accidentally sell one of the quest items, don’t worry. Your progress still counts, and you won’t need to find that item again.
How To Complete the Quest
Once you’ve collected all four items:
- Head back to John under the umbrella.
- Talk to him again to turn in the quest.
He’ll thank you and give you your rewards right away.
Fishing Trip Quest Rewards
Completing the quest gives you:
- EXP
- Cash
- 3 Prismatic Magnets
The Prismatic Magnets are particularly useful. They increase your chances of digging up rare items, and since they’re limited, you might want to save them for high-value digging runs later in the game.
