If you’re looking to dominate URA, Air Groove is a pretty decent choice, especially if you can achieve a build that prioritizes Speed. The character can handle both the Leader and Runner styles equally well, but you’ll need to time her skills effectively. You want to trigger those skills without any issues, which would mean investing in Wit too.

In the second year, you’ll also need to provide some recovery support for her Stamina, so that she doesn’t burn out midway through a race. The following article focuses on a dependable Air Groove build in Umamusume Pretty Derby.

While training her, always remember that the priority is to get her Wit and Speed bonds to hit orange as soon as you can. You should let her Rest only when her energy gauge drops to Red. Otherwise, always pick training for Wit or Recreation. Use any Summer Turns to bolster her Power and Speed stats only, and you want her Speed to level up before the second Summer Camp begins. Keep in mind that she is perfect for Medium races. So, you don’t want her to get burned out midway through Long ones.

Primary Stats

Train Air Groove’s Speed stat as soon as you can. This should always be your priority, at least until you reach a Speed of 1000+. Once you’ve upped her Speed significantly, the next stat you want to focus on is Stamina. 600+ should be enough to get her through Medium Races without an overdependence on Stamina cards. This’ll help you to have other more useful cards in your deck.

Secondary Stats

Get her Wit to around 300-350. This stat will help her activate her special skill properly during races. Wit also plays a role in how well her passive skills come into effect, so you don’t want to neglect it completely. Training Air Groove’s Power to 650+ is also a great idea, as it’ll help her make that final push during the last leg of a race.

Support Card Layout

The support cards you choose will depend on what kind of a build you want to achieve with her. The following are some examples of the support card layout based on how you want her to play.

  • Starter deck: Go for a deck with 3 Speed, 1 Stamina, 1 Wit, and 1 Power card. During the early stages, this setup will provide Air Groove the support for most of her core Stats.

  • Skill activation deck: You should have 2 Speed, 1 Power, 1 Wit, 1 Stamina, and 1 Friend card. This type of deck will sacrifice some support for her Speed to ensure greater skill activation. You should focus on such a build when clearing the starting URA events.
