The Toucan is one of the more recently introduced pets in Grow a Garden. Released during the Summer Update, it is one of the many pets you could obtain from one of the new eggs. It resembles the Seagull but has black feathers with a large beak. You can still obtain it during the Prehistoric Update, making it one of the few birds currently hatchable in the game.

Trait

As mentioned, the in-game Toucan resembles its real-life counterpart. Its trait is also inspired by its tropical roots. The pet’s main usage is to boost the size of tropical plant crops in your garden. Here is a breakdown of the Toucan pet’s traits:

The pet’s trait is called Tropical Lover. Every Tropical Plant within 25 studs gets a 1.2x size bonus!
The Tropical fruits also gain a variant chance bonus. This only affects growth mutations such as Gold or Rainbow.

Both the variant chance and size boost stat will get better as the pet ages. Unlike most other pets, the Toucan’s trait is a constant passive and does not have a specific trigger time. You can also stack the pet’s traits to increase the size bonus and variant chance for Tropical fruits. Do note that the pet’s traits do not affect plants that have been moved by the Trowel gear.

How to obtain Troucan Pet in Grow a Garden

You can hatch the pet from the rare summer egg with a 25% hatch chance. The Rare Summer Egg is one of the eggs that devs added as part of the Summer Update. Although the Summer Harvest event has been removed with the latest update, players can still find the Rare Summer Egg in the Pet Egg Shop on the map.

During the Prehistoric Update, there is a 17% chance that it will appear in the shop. To buy it, you have to either spend 25 million Sheckles or 99 Robux. It takes four hours to hatch, and there is a 25% chance of getting the Toucan. So you may have to get multiple eggs.
