Learn how to ascend and evolve units in All Star Tower Defense X, including the materials and NPC locations for top characters.
In All Star Tower Defense X, you might have noticed that some units stop leveling up during battles. That usually means they need to be either ascended or evolved outside of matches. In this guide, you’ll learn the difference between ascending and evolving, how to do both, and the materials and NPCs required.
Ascend vs Evolve in All Star Tower Defense X
There are two types of character upgrades:
- Evolve: Used for most 3-star and 4-star characters.
- Ascend: Required for 5-star or higher characters.
How To Ascend Units
- Go to your Units tab.
- Select the unit you want to ascend.
- Press the Ascend button to see the required materials.
- Collect the materials through quests, NPCs, story mode, or ASTDX codes.
- Once ready, click the gold amount button to pay and complete the ascension.
How To Evolve Units
- Go to your Units tab.
- Select a character eligible for evolution.
- Click the Evolve button.
- Gather all required items.
- Click the gold button to evolve your unit.
