How Good is Biwa Hayahide?
Positives
Biwa Hayahide is a good pick to build as a Long-distance Pace Chaser, brushing shoulders with the likes of TM Opera O and Special Week in the category. Her unique skill boosts velocity considerably on the final corner if she hasn’t ‘rushed’ during the race. With a 20% Wit bonus, she is unlikely to gain the ‘rushed’ debuff.
While she can run in Medium races as well, several of Biwa Hayahide’s skills are exclusive to Long races. Long events are about maximizing stamina and regenerating it with skills during the race. While the former can be accomplished with 3-4 Stamina Support Cards, Biwa Hayahide has plenty of innate skills for the latter.
After saving up Stamina until the final corner, Biwa Hayahide can begin her last spurt strong by triggering her unique skill, ideally complemented by other Last Leg skills like ‘Homestretch Haste’ and ‘Prepared to Pass.’
Negatives
Biwa Hayahide is not an easy character to build since her career has Mile races, for which she has a “C” rank aptitude. In all fairness, only one of them is competitive and requires you to place 5th or above. Training her for Long races can be complex since she doesn’t have a Stamina bonus, and you’ll have to rely on the right combination of Support Cards. Since she already has a 20% Wit bonus, it will be optimal to skip on Wit cards for her run.
