You’ll need to get a lot of Gravcores in Rimworld Odyssey if you’re planning to craft useful upgrades for your Gravship.
With its latest DLC, Rimworld has made massive changes to its core gameplay. Now, rather than spending all of your time on the ground, you get access to a Gravship that lets you travel to outer space. You’ll need to build parts of the ship, expand on it by adding more rooms and other amenities, and make sure colonists living on the Gravship remain safe. All of this requires you to craft useful items, starting from coolers to rooms for each occupant. One of the key materials you’ll need when crafting are Gravcores.
In the following guide, we’ll explore how you can get your hands on Gravcores in Rimworld Odyssey and what they can help you build.
How To Get Gravcores in Rimworld Odyssey
Like Gravlite Panels, Gravcores are a new material that the DLC adds to the base game. However, unlike the panels, you can’t craft the Gravcores. Instead, you’ll just need to find them through questing. After landing on a planet, check out the map for any available quests that you could complete. Some of these reward you with Gravcores. One good thing, though, is that these planet-side quests don’t seem to have an expiration for now. So, you can take your time in clearing them one by one.
There’s some amount of luck involved in gathering the material this way, since you never know which of the quests will give you the Gravcores. The developers might introduce crafting the resource through a future patch. However, for now, there’s no other way to acquire Gravcores in the game.

How To Use Gravcores in Rimworld Odyssey
As tricky as they are to acquire, Gravcores are immensely useful in crafting ship upgrades. The most important of these upgrades is the Grav Field Extender. You’ll need this particular upgrade sooner or later, since it literally expands the limit of your Gravship. So, when you run out of space to install new features or rooms on your mobile base, you will have to craft the Grav Field Extender. So, before you reach that point in the game, we suggest you prioritize the collection of Gravcores.
Besides the Grav Field Extender, you can also use Gravcores to build Gravcore Power Cells. These are great sources of power, generating 1200 watts of it. There are several other useful pieces of equipment or tech that require this material for crafting. So, make sure you complete as many of the Gravcore-related quests as you can.
