Diablo 4’s Season 9 update, Sins of the Horadrim, introduces a fresh layer of combat strategy with the new Horadric Spell system. This mechanic allows you to combine different spell components — Catalysts, Infusions, and Arcana — to create spells that suit your playstyle.
Tendrilous Bundle is one such Arcana, notable for its ability to immobilize enemies during battle. It doesn’t drop immediately, though. You’ll need to engage with the seasonal progression system, raise your Horadric Knowledge rank, and take on Strongrooms before you can hope to collect it. Once acquired, it offers both control and reliability in combat.
How To Get the Tendrilous Bundle in Diablo 4
You will first need access to Horadric Strongrooms. These are special zones with higher difficulty and better rewards, often requiring preparation and skill to complete.
But there’s a catch; you won’t be eligible for the Tendrilous Bundle drop until you have reached Rank 3 in the Horadric Knowledge reputation system. This system is part of Season 9’s progression track. You will have to keep grinding through tasks that build your rank, such as clearing events, engaging in seasonal content, and completing Horadric-focused objectives.
Once you have hit Rank 3, Tendrilous Bundle can appear as a random reward from any cleared Strongroom. There’s no guaranteed path, so patience and repeated runs will help increase your chances. Focus on efficiency and speed in Strongrooms to boost your drop rate over time.
Since it’s a rare Arcana spell, expect some trial and error before it lands in your inventory. Try running Strongrooms with friends or a party to speed up the process.
How To Use Tendrilous Bundle in Diablo 4
After acquiring it, you will find the Tendrilous Bundle listed in your Horadric Spell section under Arcana spells. What it does is simple but significant — your Catalyst gains up to a 40% chance to Immobilize enemies for five seconds. It doesn’t activate with every hit, but when it does, it stops enemies in their tracks.
You can equip it through the Horadric Spellcraft Menu. If you are aiming for consistent control over mobs or want to avoid being overwhelmed during fights, adding this Arcana can make your setup more dependable.
Its value increases even more with upgrades. You can upgrade the Tendrilous Bundle up to Rank 5. Each upgrade makes the effect more reliable, so if control and utility are part of your build, you will want to keep improving it.
To upgrade, access the Horadric Spellcraft Menu and select the Tendrilous Bundle. Use the Upgrade Power option to invest Horadric Phials. The cost rises with each rank:
- Rank 2: 25 Phials
- Rank 3: 50 Phials
- Rank 4: 100 Phials
- Rank 5: 200 Phials
Make sure you are saving your Phials wisely. You will need a good stockpile to reach the higher ranks, especially if you are managing multiple spells.
