This directly contradicts previous rumors, which suggested that COD 2027 would be Advanced Warfare 2. But that is not all. TheGhostOfHope also shared the following about the title:
- Sledgehammer Games is reportedly developing the game.
- It will put a lot of emphasis on revolutionizing the movement system. However, there won’t be any jetpacks.
- Zombies mode would likely be absent.
- Get High mode, as seen in Modern Warfare 3 (2023), is likely to return.

Based on the aforementioned details, it is safe to assume that the upcoming game will feature boots-on-the-ground combat. On top of that, fans can expect an overhauled movement system, similar to what we saw with Black Ops 6’s Omnimovement. Since the game will be set in the modern era, the weapons could also reflect the same. Hence, don’t expect any futuristic weapons, at least not on launch day.
