Season 9 introduces a fresh mechanic through Horadric Jewels, and one of the most useful among them is the Brilliant Sigil. If you are trying to make the most of your build and you are focusing on Infusions, this is a piece you will want to keep an eye on. But before you start collecting fragments or currencies, it’s important to understand how this item works and what steps are required to obtain it.

What Is Brilliant Sigil in Diablo 4?

Brilliant Sigil is a socketable Horadric Jewel that you can fit into Rings or Amulets to enhance your gear. Apart from the shared traits across all Horadric Jewels, 160 Armor and 8% Resistance to All Elements, Brilliant Sigil offers one specific bonus. It makes your Infusions 150% more potent.

This directly benefits any builds or classes that lean on Infusion-based effects. The moment you equip it, you’ll notice the difference in how your abilities behave, especially in tougher zones. However, it doesn’t drop directly.

There’s no shortcut here. You must first unlock the ability to craft it. This isn’t automatic. You’ll need to find a Horadric Tome; these are consumable items tied to Horadric Strongrooms. They only appear if you are playing at Torment I difficulty or above.

Once you acquire the Tome, using it adds a new recipe to your collection. This includes one for the Brilliant Sigil. Without this item, you won’t even see the option to make the Sigil, so it’s a non-negotiable step.

You don’t get to choose which Horadric Jewel a Tome will unlock. It’s a random selection. That means you might need to repeat Strongroom runs until the Brilliant Sigil recipe is available to you.

After unlocking the recipe, head to the Horadric Lapidary. You will find this crafting station in town, and it’s where all Horadric Jewels are made. To create a Brilliant Sigil, gather the following:

  • 3,000 Horadric Phials
  • 15,000 Diamond Fragments
  • 15,000 Skull Fragments
  • 15,000 Topaz Fragments

Horadric Phials are Season 9’s unique currency. You will earn these from seasonal activities. As for the Gem Fragments, you’ll need to collect them by salvaging specific gems or through related endgame content. You might also want to stockpile these items in advance if you plan to try multiple jewel combinations later.
