The Edge of Fate expansion completely rewrites certain gameplay mechanics, adds a new planet called Kepler, and introduces a bunch of new DLC campaign and side quests in Destiny 2. Also, there are several new weapons and armor pieces to find and collect. While most of them will require you to grind using the Altar of Relativity, there is one armor piece that could be yours completely free. We’re referring to the Samurai Bushido Armor in Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate.

So, if you want a cool new look for your Guardian, we suggest claiming this armor piece immediately. Here’s a complete guide on how to do it.

You will have to complete the Encore mission, as part of one of the Portal activities, to get the armor. To access the mission, simply open the Portal menu and select Pinnacle missions. Make sure you are prepared to tackle the Encore mission, as it can take a good 45 minutes to an hour to complete solo. It’s slightly easier and quicker if you’re playing with friends. Otherwise, you might need to spend considerable time solving the terminal puzzles here. Also, bring along a weapon that heals you, since you’ll need to get through the final boss fight in the mission with the Choral Mind.

The Samurai Bushido Armor has five pieces, and each of them will drop within the Encore mission, albeit from different sources. However, since these are guaranteed drops, you can complete the entire armor set by completing the mission just once.

The armor set provides the following bonuses, based on how many pieces you equip:

  • Two pieces: When wearing two pieces from the set, you’ll receive the IAIDO bonus. This will heal you whenever you deal a killing blow with a freshly reloaded or drawn weapon.
  • Four pieces: When wearing four pieces from the set, you get Unfaltering Focus. Using Swords, Shotguns, and Bows to deal the final blow will reduce incoming damage temporarily. Dealing damage to enemies with any of these weapons can also increase the duration of this effect.

IAIDO is a great way to get constant healing and is more suited for diverse builds. On the other hand, the Unfaltering Focus bonus can be handy during Pinnacle activities with melee-based or Shotgun-based builds.
