Neon Abyss 2 is making a host of gameplay changes when compared to the first game in the series. The sequel is going bigger in a lot of ways, as you’d expect. One of the prime examples is the different weapon types available to players this time around. In the first game, you could only rely on your guns to battle enemies.
However, in this one, you have access to a whole arsenal that includes spells and melee weapons too. In this guide, we’ll explore all of the new weapon types in Neon Abyss 2 and how they can impact your gameplay style.
All New Weapon Types in Neon Abyss 2
As we said before, the original game had guns only. You could only differentiate between the different guns by the way they fired or the effects they had on foes. This time around, there’s even more variety. The following are the new weapon types you’ll use in the game:
- Knuckles
- Swords
- Magic items
- Sports equipment
- Even more varieties of guns
While guns remain the primary focus of the game, the additional variants here will surely spice things up. The most interesting addition is the melee weapons. Obviously, you’ll need to get close to the enemy if you’re trying to use either the Knuckles or the Sword. So, these will force you to adopt new ways of moving to get close to your opponent in combat.
Synergy and Item Stacking Is Back
The item-stacking feature from the first game makes a comeback here. So, regardless of the type of weapon you’re using, every time you pick up an additional item, that weapon’s effects will undergo some change. This could mean a different firing rate or simply an upgrade in the base damage of the weapon. With limitless item stacking, you will have drastically different experiences through repeat runs, even if you choose to use the same weapon type. Also, you’ll be able to mix and match the different weaponry until you find a combination that suits you perfectly.
