This is an extensive guide on how you should pick the first boss in Destiny 2’s ‘The Desert Perpetual’ raid and what comes after.

There’s an ongoing raid in Destiny 2, dubbed The Desert Perpetual. It shakes things up by being the only non-linear raid for the first time in eight years. The last time players had such a non-linear experience was during the Leviathan endgame activity. In the present raid, however, the choice you’ll need to make is the order in which you want to tackle the three available encounters.
While the order of these boss fights is completely left up to the player, you can’t bypass any of the encounters. You will have to complete all three to get to the final boss. In the following guide, we’ll help you understand how to pick the first boss in Destiny 2 The Desert Perpetual raid.

After entering the raid, proceed forward through the bridge and take out any Vex enemies here. Your first order of business is eliminating the three Hydra enemies, all of whom are in the three corners of this arena. Once that is done, proceed to the purple pillar in the area, and you’ll find an elevator inside it. Take it all the way up and into another room, with three circular nodes in front of you. Interacting with any of these nodes will take you to one of three boss encounters. Here’s a rundown on which nodes lead to which bosses.
- Axion is axiom: This leads to the Agraios Hobgoblin boss encounter.
- Interference patterns well: If you interact with this node, you’ll face off against the Iatros Hydra boss.
- All are entangled: This node causes the Epoptes Hydra boss fight to trigger.
You will have to complete all three encounters to proceed with the raid. However, you’re free to choose the order as you please. Once you interact with one of the nodes, an Orb will lead you toward that boss fight.
After completing every boss encounter, you’ll return to this room with the nodes to select the subsequent boss encounter. You will have to get through the three boss encounters first before the final boss fight of the raid unlocks. Then, you’ll challenge Keregos, the Worldline, in a difficult but spectacular fight.
