Pokemon Legends ZA – Mega Dragonite

The highlight of this stream would definitely be this. Legends ZA was the final thing shown at the event, as it is likely the most anticipated upcoming project from Pokemon. The trailer showcased a lot of new mechanics and gave us story beats on what to expect from the game. However, the standout from this trailer would definitely be a new Mega Evolution form for the Generation 1 Pokemon, Dragonite.

The design seems to give Dragonite a lot of features from its pre-evolution, Dragonair. The wings are present on the head, while the tail has a bulb formation.

Dragonite getting a Mega Evolution is special for lots of reasons. Firstly, it is because of its name. The Mega Stones for Pokemon have the ‘ite’ affix attached to them. Therefore, if this trend holds up, then Dragonite’s corresponding stone would be named ‘Dragoniteite’. Apart from this, other pseudo-legendaries (like Metagross and Tyranitar) received Mega Evolutions, so Dragonite fans would definitely feel left out.
