The Volcano update in Prospecting Roblox adds one of the biggest expansions to the game with an entirely new location and high-value resources. Volcano Island brings new ores, powerful gear, and quests that change how players progress. Volcano Update Guide for Prospecting
The update adds Volcano Island to the map with three main zones: Volcanic Sands, Windswept Beach, and The Magma Furnace. These areas hold 11 new ores, rare fossils, and exclusive questlines. Eight waypoints are scattered across the island for quick travel once unlocked. The update also introduces hourly events such as Meteor Shower, Solar Flare, River Rapids, and Mythic Rift to keep exploration dynamic.
To access the island, go to the docks near Fortune River and talk to the Ferryman NPC. Choose the teleport option to travel there at no cost. After unlocking the island’s waypoint, you can use fast travel without speaking to the Ferryman again.
The Magma Furnace entrance is located on the left side of Volcano Island when viewed from the Caldera Island waypoint. Speak to the Flame Priest NPC near the entrance to start his quest. He will require one Fire Opal to open the passage. After you deliver the ore, he will unlock the path into the volcano. Fire Opal is a Legendary ore and a key to accessing the volcano. It spawns most frequently in Volcanic Sands with a smaller chance inside the Magma Furnace. Use totems or gear with Luck bonuses to increase the drop rate. Farming this ore early helps you progress quickly through the update.

Key NPCs on the Island
Volcano Island has three quest NPCs:
- The Ranger in Volcanic Sands offers collection-based quests.
- The Paleontologist in Windswept Beach focuses on fossils.
- The Flame Priest at the volcano entrance unlocks ‘The Magma Furnace’ after you bring him a Fire Opal.
Materials for Phoenix Wings
Flarebloom, Cinnabar, and Fire Opal all spawn inside the Magma Furnace. Focus on farming these ores once you gain access, as they are needed to craft the Phoenix Wings charm.
Unlock the waypoint system as soon as possible to cut down travel time. Farm Fire Opal early to access the volcano quickly, then move to Flarebloom and Volcanic Core for high-value farming. Completing NPC quests while gathering ores helps you progress steadily and unlock rewards faster.
