Prospecting’s newest Volcano update just dropped, and there’s a lot to check out: new regions, minerals, equipment, and more. But before you get overwhelmed, let’s focus on the main highlight: the Dragonflame Shovel and Pan.

To get them, you’ll need to travel to the new Volcanic Island. Start by heading to the dock near Fortune River, where a ferryman is waiting. Talk to him, and he’ll take you straight to the new Island. Once you arrive, make your way toward the volcano and look for a hidden entrance on the left side. You’ll find a flame priest standing nearby, and that’s where your journey begins.

Flame Priest in Prospecting

The Flame Priest will ask you for a Fire Opal. You can find this rare ore by digging around the volcanic zones until it drops. Once you hand it over, he’ll cast a fire protection spell on you, letting you safely enter the volcano.

Inside the volcano, you’ll reach a new area called the Magma Furnace. There, you can fast-travel, buy gear, and start grinding. The Dragonflame Shovel and Pan are both available for purchase with money only; there’s no requirement for materials or crafting.

The size penalty is there to balance its OP luck stat. You’ll find it easier to collect rare ores, even if each ore is slightly smaller. This pan pairs especially well with strength totems and high-capacity shovels.

There’s also a Dragonflame Sluice you can buy for $200 million. It gives you 1,500 luck, 125 capacity, and can only be placed in moving water. This tool helps collect ores even when you’re AFK, and it has a cool fire-breathing visual effect.
