Both Nvidia RTX 5050 and Intel Arc B570 are entry-level budget graphics cards designed to play games at 1080p, but which is the better GPU?

Note: The two GPUs here were tested at 1080p resolution with High/Ultra Settings unless mentioned otherwise. All the FPS numbers were sourced from the ByArdanTR Benchmark channel on YouTube. For the tests, the two graphics cards were tested with an Intel Core i5-10400F mid-range CPU.
The Nvidia RTX 5050 is around 8% faster on average than the Intel Arc B570. However, there are some caveats. It is widely known that Intel’s latest Arc B5XX GPUs require a faster CPU, without which they can bottleneck in certain CPU-bound games.
The above tests were conducted with the older 10th Gen Intel Core i5-10400F mid-range CPU. With a newer and slightly more powerful processor, such as the Intel Core i5-12400F, the Intel Arc B570 may deliver a slightly higher performance. Besides, the 10GB memory will surely come in handy in VRAM-hungry games, such as The Last of Us: Part 1 and 2, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and others.
Price Comparison

The Nvidia RTX 5050 is currently selling for $249.99 on Amazon, which is its MSRP. Unfortunately, the Intel Arc B570 is available for $299.99 on Amazon, which is much higher than its $219 MSRP. However, the pricing of the Intel Arc cards is a bit lower outside of the US. Therefore, you will find the Intel Arc B570 is more competitive in pricing outside of the US.
Final Verdict on Nvidia RTX 5050 vs Intel Arc B570
The Nvidia RTX 5050 is around 8% faster than the Intel Arc B570, but its lower memory poses a risk for future games that may require more memory than current games do. In such a case, the Intel Arc B570 might be the better option. Both GPUs offer something that the other doesn’t have, which makes it difficult to choose one over the other. Therefore, the ultimate choice would come down to the pricing.
If their prices are strikingly close to each other, we would recommend the Intel Arc B570 due to its higher memory capacity, even though its performance is on the lower side. However, if you find that the Intel GPU is priced at $30 or higher, as it is now in the US, then get the Nvidia RTX 5050 instead. Also, keep in mind that the Intel Arc B570 would require a faster CPU to perform at its fullest capacity. This could become problematic for users with older PCs looking for an upgrade for their GPU. However, if you’re building a new PC, this shouldn’t be a problem.
