These settings are best tuned for playing Cyberpunk: 2077 and the Phantom Liberty DLC, with RTX 4070 Super at 1440p.
The RTX 4070 Super is a substantial upgrade over the RTX 4070. Its performance lies within 10% of the RTX 4070 Ti. The only limitation of this GPU is its TDP. The RTX 4070 Ti has models with a 12V HPWR cable, allowing it to consume over 320W on specific AIB partner models.
Sadly, the 4070 Super, despite being incredibly capable, requires gamers to adjust settings, as its computational power and VRAM limitations hinder gaming performance. With Cyberpunk, you can easily play at native 1440p with raster, but when it comes to RT, you are limited to low, simply because of VRAM. That said, here are the settings you need to use with your 4070 Super.
Note: The RTX 4070 Super requires a CPU with similar compute power to that of a Core i5-13500 or Ryzen 5 7600. Anything below that will cause CPU bottlenecks, particularly in the Phantom Liberty DLC with RT enabled. As for raster, you are fine.
RTX 4070 Super – Cyberpunk and Phantom Liberty DLC (1440p Optimized)
A few keynotes to consider:
- If you increase the RT options beyond low at 1440p, even with upscaling, the framerates will likely drop, but due to VRAM limitations.
- Do not enable Path Tracing with the RTX 4070 Super.
- For raster, you can use the DLSS Transformer model and experiment with either Quality upscaling or Native AA (DLAA); either option will yield equally good image quality.
- Frame Generation is an option; check VRAM usage and then decide, as turning on FG has significant VRAM overhead.
