There are four ships to choose from in Wildgate, with each ship performing differently and catering to a specific playstyle.

Wildgate is a PvP game that uses space as more than a backdrop. As you go about battling enemies through space, you have to interact with asteroids, find POIs, and use futuristic tools to navigate around your enemies. Naturally, ships, too, are a big part of your gameplay loop. There are four ships to choose from when playing a game of Wildgate. These ships all perform differently, and each caters to a specific playstyle. The ship you pick depends heavily on the playstyle you favor.
While the ships are fairly balanced, saying they’re on equal footing would be misleading. In our opinion, we’ve found the Privateer to be the best ship among the roster, and it is a clear standout for its kill potential. We shall discuss this in detail below.

As stated earlier, we’ve found the Privateer to be the best ship in Wildgate, and this is largely due to the ship’s absurdly high killing potential. The Privateer ship comes loaded with a six-turret gun deck that can eat away at enemy HP very easily. If you’re mindful about hoarding resources and keeping them away from enemies, you can stop a lot of them from healing, making the Privateer even more potent in battle.
With that being said, the Privateer is mostly combat-focused. Its mobility is nothing to write home about, and it is outpaced when it comes to tackling objectives. But since the meta heavily favors combat at the moment, it is a clear winner.
Still, there is no wrong choice when it comes to ships in Wildgate. It is all about identifying your team’s playstyle and playing to your strengths. If combat isn’t your strong suit and you wish to focus more on objectives, we recommend the Bastion or the Scout. The former is a tank that ensures survivability, while the latter is fast and perfect for quick extraction.
