Learn how to leverage all of Joule’s abilities to dominate the battlefield in Supervive with an assassin playstyle.

Joule is a versatile character who can exert control over the battlefield by timing her abilities well. Most of her primary abilities are long-ranged and dish out high damage with every hit. She also has considerable mobility because of her dashes and ultimate, allowing her to pursue low-health hunters or retreat if pressured. This guide explores how each of Joule’s abilities can be used to hone her area control and assassin playstyle.
How To Use Joule’s Abilities in Supervive

Joule’s passive ability is “Static Charge,” which applies Static. When Static is stacked four times, the target becomes Static Charged and will be damaged if Joule dashes through them, replenishing her Mana and resetting the Surge cooldown. Joule also gains 250 health upon knocking a hunter.

Jolt (LMB)
Clicking the left mouse button launches long-range bolts that can pass through enemies, dealing damage and applying Static. Use Jolt at range to build up Static on enemies while maintaining distance. Once Static Charge is built up, you can dash through them to execute devastating combos.
Voltaic Spear (RMB)

Hold the right mouse button to charge Voltaic Spear. The longer you charge the ability, the more its range increases, maxing out after one second of charging. Release RMB to launch a spear of lightning that knocks back targets and briefly stuns them if they collide with terrain or an entity. Lightning orbs spawn near struck hunters, recharging Surge when picked up by Joule.
Tap RMB to use Voltaic Spear at close range. At longer ranges, try to line up shots through two enemies at once. This will cause them to collide with each other and become stunned. Use such an opportunity for follow-up attacks with Dash combos.
Surge (L Shift)
Hold Left Shift to aim Surge and release it to dash over a considerable distance, becoming invulnerable to projectile attacks and damaging enemy hunters you pass through. Enemies with Static Charge take bonus damage, reset Surge’s cooldown, and restore 100 Mana. The dash has a larger AoE radius at its end, so you can hold Left Shift and aim the area of effect over a target. For enemies closer by, tap the key to dash through them.
Lightning Strike (Q)

Hold the “Q” key, aim the ability, and release it to launch a slightly delayed Lightning Strike that applies Grounded and one stack of Static. Enemies are launched in the direction you drag your cursor after holding the “Q” key. This is perfect for throwing opponents into the abyss, pushing melee fighters away from you, or using as a follow-up to Voltaic Spear.
Thunderstorm (R)

Pressing the “R” key launches Joule into the air and transforms her into a thunderstorm, making her invulnerable to projectiles. Pressing “R” again deals area damage at the target location, knocking back enemies and applying one stack of Static while spreading existing Static stacks to nearby targets. The ultimate ability is great for escaping, chasing, or knocking back enemies.
