In PEAK, you can now eat your friends to satisfy your hunger through Cannibalism. When your energy bar is mostly depleted from hunger, you begin to hallucinate that other players in the lobby are whole roasted chickens. Approaching them unlocks a new activity: eating them.

Eating your friend completely alleviates your hunger, but in return, your friend dies and turns into a skeleton. Additionally, you need to be quite close to your friends for them to appear as food. If they are far away, their models appear as normal characters.

Note that your friends do not need to be unconscious or knocked down; you can eat them anytime your hunger is high enough. Also, you will receive a Cannibalism curse, similar to the death curse that appears on your stamina bar after resurrection.

Are There Any Benefits of Cannibalism in PEAK?

Yes, there is one benefit: it completely removes your hunger. This can be especially useful in the final region of the game, called the Kiln. The Kiln is a very challenging level where you must climb the inside of a hollow volcano. Furthermore, no food items spawn in this region. Therefore, you can choose to eat a player who is near death and cannot climb anymore.

Finally, make sure to keep an eye on your stamina bar, as the Cannibalism curse can affect your chances of climbing steep walls in the Kiln.
