Mage Arena is a PvP shooter that sees powerful (and loud) wizards battling it out with spells. The sky is lit up, and death is all over the map. The action is fast-paced and hectic, and taking down the enemy team is never an easy task — unless you coordinate with your own team well enough.

While Mage Arena is a lot like the PvP shooters of old, where racking up kills seems ideal, teamwork and team synergy go a long way in ensuring victory. You play with your team in co-op, and strategizing your offense and defense is of the utmost importance.

If you’re looking to stack up wins in Mage Arena, you need to give your all in co-op. If you don’t know how to invite your friends for co-op, or wish to know simple co-op strategies for your next game, keep reading to find out.

How To Play Co-op in Mage Arena

If you wish to play Mage Arena in co-op with your friends, follow the steps below:

  • Boot up Mage Arena and load into the main menu.
  • Select the Create Lobby option and set the new lobby to private.
  • Invite your friends through a private code or via Steam invites.

If you don’t have a sufficient number of friends to fill the full lobby, you can invite your friends and play in a public lobby, where you’ll then be queued against other players.

Once the match begins, coordination is of the utmost importance. You play in a team of four, so you must assign roles to each player. If you’re just starting out, it is ideal to split the team into groups of two. Two players hold down defense, while the other two attack the enemies. You can also switch to a 3-1 attack if needed.

Apart from your formations, you also need to make sure you synergize your attacks with spells. If your teammate is using spells such as Thunderbolt, you need to aid them with a Freeze or Wisp.

Make sure to discuss your strategy beforehand. Communication is key in this game, so speak with your teammates and see how they play. This is a lot easier when you play with friends, but we also encourage communicating with your random teammates if you’re in a public lobby.
