Grounded 2 Mutations is a bit different from its prequel because of the new class system in the game. Mutations are now more focused on buffing each class’s strong points and more. Although the concept of the mutations is based on Grounded 1, instead of buying them, you have to grind most of them in-game. These are mainly passive buffs to classes or general buffs for exploration and survival. Here are all the mutations explained in Grounded 2.
All Mutations in Grounded 2

You can allocate up to four mutations (upgraded with Milk Molars) in Grounded 2 for now. These types are Combat Abilities, Fighting Styles, Exploration, and Survival.

Fighting Styles

Smasher | Land a killing blow on 40/100/200 creatures with clubs. | Phase 1: Clubs deal 1/2/3 extra stun every hit. Phase 3: 20% extra damage to stunned enemies hit with clubs. |
Javelineer | Land a killing blow on 40/100/200 creatures with spears. | Phase 1: Applies an effect that returns damage to the attacker for 100%/150%/200% of their base damage. Effect lasts for 5 seconds. Phase 2: Throwing Spears deal 10%/20%/30% more damage. Phase 3: Charged spear attacks deal 30% more damage. |
Assassin | Land a killing blow on 40/100/200 creatures with daggers. | Phase 1: 20%/25%/30% increased critical hit damage from daggers and sickles. Phase 2: Dash Strikes have 10%/15%/20% increased critical hit chance. Phase 3: Killing with Daggers and Sickles increases critical hit chance by 5% for 5 seconds. |
Sharpshooter | Land a killing blow on 40/100/200 creatures with bows. | Phase 1: Charged bow attacks have 5%/10%/15% more critical hit chance. Phase 3: Perfect Bow Charge attacks deal 10% more damage. |
Blademaster | Land a killing blow on 40/100/200 creatures with swords. | Phase 1: Enemies deal 10%/20%/30% less damage when struck by a sword for 5 seconds. Phase 3: Sword attacks reduce exhaustion meter by 90%. |
Whittle Wizard | Land a killing blow on 40/100/200 creatures with staves. | Phase 1: Frozen creatures take 50%/75%/100% more shatter damage for 100 seconds. Phase 2: Burned creatures take 50%/75%/100% more burning damage for 100 seconds. Phase 3: 5% increased critical hit chance against frozen and burnt enemies. |
